For those of you who care about such things: the current version of the JetFlash 790 does *not* have an LED indicator, despite what the item description says. I have an older one of these that does have the indicator. Sustained writes on the one I just bought are around 20MB/s and reads are around 120MB/s.

Ive used these flash drives for years without any issues whatsoever, but these latest ones were a problem right from the beginning. First of all neither one was recognized and I was prompted to scan and fix them. I did this and they were now recognized, but I couldnt write on them. So I tried reformatting them and then tried writing on them. OMG! They were plugged into a 3.1 usb port, but the transfer speeds were super slow. They were advertised as 3.1 flash drives, but the speeds were below even 2.0 standards -the transfer speeds of both flash drives never posted above 11mps. Additionally (and this is not critical to the performance, but worth mentioning anyway) neither flash drive had an led activity light. All of these flash drives that I purchased over the years came equipped with activity lights which was a nice feature. The activity light was very bright and you could glance at them from across the room and see what was going on. Now nothing. They look the same, but they are not the same. I was going to return them, but a computer whiz friend of mine wanted to take them apart and test them so I gave them to him -I also gave him one of my older ones to compare against these current versions. BTW all of the older drives still work fine after years of use -and they still light up nicely. I even have one thats been plugged into my car for a couple of years (for music) and its still going strong. They were a great flash drive for the money, but now theyre garbage.

!!!BEWARE,THIS PRODUCT IS ACTUALLY 29.4GB,NOT 32GB!!! (at least from my personal experience) However, other than that and how annoying and seemingly flimsy way the plastic surrounding the USB is because of its very simple design. The way you open and close the 3.0 USB is by sliding along a slider embedded in the plastic, which feels weak at the time, but hey,I may grow to love it!

The size of 64 GB is good for collecting brief video records. But because the speed is not good enough, I am going to use this to store video clips and play on various PCs. If you want an USB stick of a large capacity and if youre going to write on it frequently, this one would be not so recommendable. Id like to recommend SANDISK Extreme USB 3.0 or SANDISK Extreme Pro USB 3.0 for frequent writing. They have decent speeds both in reading and writing. Ive been using various USB sticks over more than 15 years and found only SANDISK Extreme USB 3.0 / Extreme Pro USB 3.0 have suitable speed for their great capacity. This one would be recommended for temporary storage for a great volume of data with less frequent writings. SANDISK Extreme / Extreme Pro USB 3.0 are definitely the ones to go with if you can ignore additional cost. With this one, you can expect a great capacity but not a suitable speed to fill that capacity.

The actual write speed I got was 15 MB/s. I transfered small and large files. It works very well with a phone/tablet with android 5 by formatting the drive using the exFAT file system. With NTFS the drive was not recognized by android. It does not have a solid construction but if you are careful it will have a long life in your possession. The price is very good for the given capacity and it saved me some space on my laptop. I would buy it again. I will also try their encryption software one day.

The sustained read speeds of ~90MB/sec are not shabby at all but the sustained write speed of 70MB/sec really blew me away.

Like a number of USB drives I have purchased in the past and used on multiple computers it seems like half of them Windows does not recognize them as the size that they are. Windows would only format this thing to 4GB. But, when I use Etcher to burn ISOs to it Etcher always sees it as a 64GB drive with 63GB free for use and burns my iso images just fine.....until the drive died after being used around 20 times. Most of the time it sat in the drawer of my properly air conditioned and heated home, so a range of 68f to 75f and no other real reason for it to die to quickly. Never left it in the car and never ran around with it in my pocket getting physically stressed as I moved around. This thing never left the house but now....its dead and will be put in a drawer with a pile of others that seem to have a read/write life of two dozen cycles. God help us understand why SSDs seem to work so well but USB sticks are terrible as are many microSD cards....Kindle Fire, stop destroying those too.

Its a great deal on a usb3.1 stick. They have even improved the lock mechanism on it since the last one of these I got my hands on... this one is flawless, fast and does its job for like 6$... cant beat it

This brand is my favorite USB Flash Drive the last 2 years. No Cap, Usb 3.1, Indicator Light, and finally very fast to eject by Windows. Others are much slower. When light goes out you can safely remove. If you want a bootable USB Flash Drive do not buy larger than 32gb or none will work.

This is my 2nd Transcend flash drive, and my 4th storage device from Transcend overall. Not one of their products has ever had an issue or error for me, even after years of abuse, so I would say that I definitely trust their products. So let me get into the pros/cons of this particular drive: PROS: -Massive storage capacity! It blows me away that 128gb can fit on a flash drive these days -Speed: Although I havent done an official speed test, the USB 3.0 seems to transfer large (10gb+) files very fast -Physical size is very small. I was pleasantly surprised at how tiny this thing is, as it looked a bit larger in the stock photos. Its very thin, and barely longer than a standard house key. -Design: This may be more of a personal opinion, but I find the physical appearance to be very aesthetically pleasing, thin, and sleek. CONS: -Lightweight plastic construction. Although Ive never had a Transcend drive break on me, I do think this one just feels cheaper. -The slider is a little loose. Its not bad, but I somehow wish that there was a more definitive click when you slide the USB end out or in. It simply should be sturdier. -Bright LED light. This could be a pro or con, depending on your preferences, but the blue LED indicator is quite bright. I like it, but when the lights are off and Im watching a movie it can be a bit distracting. CONCLUSION: Although it has a few drawbacks, I think this drive is the best flash drive money can buy right now. At its current price, its about the same money-wise as its competitors, but it looks a million times better. As long as the plastic material of which its made holds up overtime, this review will remain a 5/5. Highly recommended!
