Amount of colors is great but if more than 2 shirts need a color it runs out (1/2 bottle per project). Was able to do 1 sweatshirt, 3 t-shirts, and 1 tank top. Color seems to fade a bit after washing a few times. Overall good price. Just can only do 5ish items. Definitely not 30 projects. Probably will buy another kit with less colors but bigger bottles so everyone can use the color.

Had a blast using this tie dye kit with boys ranging in ages from 4-8!! We were able to make 4 youth tee shirts, 4 bandanas, and 2 adult tank tops with dye leftover. A few recommendations: 1. Wear Rubber gloves 2. Buy bulk white bandanas to use up extra dye if you don’t want any to go to waste 3. Plan ahead and launder the items you will dye the day before 4. The instructions say to machine wash each item individually after letting the dye set. In the interest of avoiding 10 loads of laundry with only one item in each, I thoroughly (and I mean THOROUGHLY) washed and rung out each item in a utility sink with hot water. I didn’t stop rinsing until the water coming out of the shirts was almost completely clear. Then I washed all of the freshly tie dyed items together in one load and had no problems. I did wash them on their own a few more times before adding with regular laundry 5. Don’t oversaturate! 6. If working with kids, do it outside if possible All of us loved this kit and the kids can’t wait to get another one and tie dye again!!

I got this for my daughter for Christmas, as we had done tie dye it together in the past and had a great time, but with this being a new kit from a different manufacturer, I was apprehensive. So when she and her friends had a little tie dye party I was interested in how everyones works of art would come out. Well, EVERYONE was proud of them. My daughters tops almost looked like something that you could sell at a beachside souvenir shop. Keep in mind these kids are 7-8 years old so they arent experts in tie-dye, but everything came out great. The bottles are easy to use and it comes equipped with most of the stuff you need (rubber bands, gloves, etc.)

This is a great tie dye supply set. Its complete and has everything you need with the exception of shirts or other items you wish to tie dye and plastic bags for the items to sit in while the dye sets (gallon sized ziplocs). This was our first time doing tie dye, so I took my time looking up suggestions and tips. Following some basic tips went a long way in guaranteeing not only that this wasnt a completely messy disaster, but also that the shirts turned out vibrant and continue to last wash after wash: 1. Choose items that are 100% cotton and wash them before using the dye to remove any manufacturing chemicals, etc. 2. Start the process with damp materials. I took ours right out of the washing machine. They shouldnt be sopping wet, simply damp. 3. Use a kitchen cooling rack for dying. This allows extra dye to pool under the item where it wont mess up the patterns attempted. We also used this over a sheet pan so it collected the dye and was easy to dump! For patterns we wanted to be specific, we rinsed the pan/cooling rack/our gloves with the hose between each tee. 4. Use a lot of dye! Damp material helps the dye go further, but you still need to soak each color section well. Pour into fabric folks as well to make sure you get full coverage. With this set, we vibrantly dyed 11 tee shirts (2 adult L, 1 Adult 2XL, 1 Adult M, 1 Adult SM, 1 Child L, 3 Child M, 2 Child SM) 5. GO OUTSIDE! No matter how cleanly you think this can be done, it cannot. Take it outside for everyones sanity and for the benefit of your homes interior. 6. WEAR. THE. GLOVES. And wear clothes you dont care about. Even filling bottles, you will find the powder magically appears on your gloves (its evil like glitter!) and any drops of water mean instant dye. Take it outside and wear clothes that are black or clothes you dont care about messing up. 7. Once done with an item, do not unravel it. Place it in its own ziploc bag (I suggest gallon size) for at least 24 hours. 8. After 24 hours, take each item out of its bag separately, remove any rubber bands and rinse with the hose outside. Rinse until the water comes out fairly clear. Dont panic if the item starts to look grey as you rinse. That is normal! 9. Wash each item SEPARATELY in HOT water and then hang dry. This is the only time you need to wash them separately. (You can get away with washing like colors together if you arent afraid of any dye swapping in the wash). Hang dry. 10. For the next THREE washes, wash the tie dyed materials together with no other items. Wash on HOT and hang dry. 11. From the 4th wash on, cold water is great and they can be washed as normal. To keep vibrant, always hang dry. Bonus Tip -- YouTube is an excellent resource for patterns! Especially the videos provided by the manufacturer. It seems like a lot, but it really is easy! And this is a no-fail way to make sure you love your items and they last a long, long time!

We did 10 adult shirts, 6 toddler shirts and 1 giant muslin blanket (75x55). Everything was pretty saturated! We did go through all the color, we wouldve liked more yellow and the bright green to add more brightness that wasnt multiple shades of pink or red. So I would buy extras of those colors. However, it was a great starter kit!! Attached are the 11 items I have.

This kit was super easy to use. There are a lot of different colors and they are super vibrant on cotton. It came with plenty of heavy duty rubber bands. Was able to make far more than 5 shirts. Could have managed 10 t-shirts but a couple of sweatshirts wound up absorbing a lot of dye. After washing in the washing machine, it was easy to wipe down the machine without staining.

I love that this kit came with so many colors! I poured out about 1/2 the mix before adding water for softer colors. I did 5 shirts and still have tons more for other projects.
