> 24 hourThis aint your dads scanner where all you had were banks and channels. It has a pretty steep learning curve but I knew that going into it. Watch the videos on line and download a program to aid you in setting it up. There are free ones out there that work fine. Before you buy this, make sure that what you want to listen to isnt encrypted. This will not hear those encrypted frequencies (no scanner will legally).

> 24 hourHave owned this for 2 years, still happy with product. Only complaint is a small one - it was a little difficult to program originally and had a little trouble with reception but I believe this is due to living in a rural area. We just had to find the best spot in the house to position it for the best reception. Now, it works perfectly and we pick up everything.

> 24 hourThis is a great scanner after you figure out how to set it up. It comes with nothing programed in, so you either have to know how to do that or read and follow the owners manuel. Unless you have previous knowledge of these things, the owners manuel is like going to college after having failed high school. I figured out on my own , how to program freqencies I and got my frequencies from an old Radio Shack code book and by using Radioreference.com. You will need to use some thing. Five stars for sound.

> 24 hourNice radio but too difficult to program. Actually had to contact third party to purchase software to program the radio. I will probably get it programmed but if asked. I wouldn’t purchase this again.

> 24 hourFinally figured this thing out kinda. Was fun to set up. I certainly hope it doesnt fail after a 75 mph drop onto the interstate, because the electronics are the same ones from the 80s. Seems like uniden has lost the desire to advance the product. I just hope this thing has the uniden durability from the past era. TOOK A MONTH to figure out how to program it. Uses the antique style usb thing, so you know the people that designed it are not going for convenience, or functionality so much. It needs a type c port.

> 24 hourSo I am a newbie to this hobby and decided to buy a scanner just to see what was going on whenever the city fire alarm goes off and to listen to police chatter in my free time. After a few days of research I settled on this model even though there were a lot of people saying it was extremely hard to program....Yes it is without help but I programmed all the local ones I needed thanks to a few you tube videos, freescan and radio reference . Took a few hours to learn how to block unwanted channels and other useful things but wasnt too bad. You can pretty much throw away the directions Uniden sent with it and just you tube or google everything. Product came early and as described.

> 24 hourThis is an excellent scanner. The only problem that I have is the auto adapter is not very durable and it is already broken, and the plug seemed too short to make a connection in my Kia.. There are complaints ones have made about the difficulty programming the scanner. Yes it is difficult. Yes there is a learning curve. I just got the scanner last week so I have a lot to learn with this thing. Im not ready to complain about it just yet because there is plenty of information on YouTube that thankfully people have taken the time to post. My thanks to them for putting forth the effort to help.

> 24 hourThis is a great scanner. I would highly recommending downloading freescan software and a premium membership to radioreference.com. Once I download the software and learned how to use it, programming was quite easy
