Just when I got the hang of twisting wires together and putting on a wire nut or cap, along comes a product that makes this incredibly easy. All you do is strip the insulation off the wire about 5/8 , lift the Wago lever and insert the wire, close the lever and bingo, youre done. All the black wires go in one connector and all the white wires go in another connector. I got incredibly lazy and actually used a Wago for connecting the bare grounding wires. I would get the connector pack with various sizes. I was pretty sure I would be using the 3 wire connectors the most and then I had a need for the 2 wire connectors. It was great to have the flexibility. Also amazing is that the connector wire size goes from 12 gauge to 24 gauge. This is a huge range, but I recently used one to connect a 24 gauge grounding wire and it was no problem and gave a very positive connection.

I bought these for the first time to help with some crowded wiring I was doing in a remodel. Im using 12 gauge wire, which can be a struggle if theres a buy junction box. In particular, Ive been installing smart switches and USB outlets, and these devices take up a ton of space. These lever nuts really helped with making a safe, compact installation. Its VERY important to strip the wires to 11mm as the instructions describe, or the lever wont lock appropriately. I used electrical tape to keep the levers from popping up, but that probably isnt necessary. Bottom line - Ill use these from this point forward, regardless of being more expensive. I just feel the reduced size and stronger assurance of connection is important enough to warrant using them.

I bought an assortment of these and have used them mostly for automotive applications so far. What I like is that they are easy to install with a built in gage to show how much length to strip, plus when you inevitably have to take apart a connection to make a correction the wire isn’t mangled up. One simple flip of the lever and the wire is free, I feel a lot more confidence than with some of the wire nut unions I have had. These are now the preferred device in my workshop.

Very glad that I paid the extra money for the Wago brand name. I looked at some of the cheaper, knockoff connectors. In fact I had a set that was almost half the price of the Wago in my cart. Then I decided to do a little research before buying them. What I discovered was the ones I had weren’t UL approved and wouldn’t pass an electric inspection. I wasn’t so worried about that as I was the potential danger from using a substandard connector. There’s a lot of things to consider when buying these. For instance, how difficult is it to unclip the snap. If it’s too easy it can unclip when you push it back into the junction box. Also ,how much actual metal to wire contact is there? Not enough and it can heat up and melt the connector. Finally, how much metal is actually going from one wire to the other? Not enough and the metal can melt and act like a fuse causing problems. As far as I can tell these knockoffs aren’t tested, or worse tested and failed. I’m guessing that for most applications they would work fine. But for the price between genuine and imitation why take the chance? If you have even one issue with one connector you’d regret not spending the extra money. Of course, take anything I write with a grain of salt. I haven’t personally tested either the Wagos or the cheaper ones. I just watched some YouTube videos and justified spending the extra money based on what I saw.

I just got this product, and I like the idea. I have always hatted wire nuts. I have had wire nuts come loose before. I have not had a need to use this product yet, but too many reviews about it are great for it not to work.
