Great Drive, Easy to install if you watch YT videos and fast Drive too. well worth the money I paid. I dont install many games but that means I will have space for a while and dont have to uninstall games.

It took about 5 minutes to get this installed into my PS5 (including the time to disconnect/reconnect cables and get the drive formatted). The case was pretty easy to remove - once you have it flipped upside down with the power connector on your left, gently press down on the right side corner closest to you/the back of the device, and slide it to the left (also hold the left side corner furthest from you to make sure the cover doesnt go flying). Remove a screw for the SSD slot, move the fitting where needed, and pop it all back together. The PS5 reported the read speed somewhere around 6500 once installed (cant remember if it was 63 something or 66 something, but in that general range), and it gave me the option to install either/both PS4 and PS5 games to the SSD.

Im a pretty avid gamer (old school as I still remember when memory cards were to save game saves and not used for storing entire games) and I waited to get an SSD for the Ps5 because I didnt want to spend so much money for memory I figured I could just delete as I went on. Well the time finally came when my backlog grew and then PS Plus added downloadable older games so I didnt want to waste time anymore downloading 100 GB newer games so I caved and the following are my impressions of this particular brand of SSD: Pros: -Its an officially licensed SSD by Sony -Its faster than the supposed better one IGN recommended the speed is shown when you initially format it (the samsung SSD was giving users read speeds of around 5000 and this one reaches 7k even though an important thing you should keep in mind is that the PS5 is capped at around 7k so it will not allow an SSD to reach the crazy numbers you see on the internet those speeds are for PC users who use it) -No issue formatting Cons - Its overpriced like every other SSD out there, it boggles my mind why a memory expansion is this expensive but I guess its still that shiny new piece of tech that will eventually be cheaper once the next big thing is announced -No matter what people tell me Ill never admit that its easy to install this. Theres one big issue with having to put this in and thats the ugly amount of pressure you have to put on your side plates to get them off. Its ridiculous that they made it this cumbersome I highly recommend a youtube video. If you do it yourself you WILL scratch the inside of your Ps5 trust me. -Theres an LED light that becomes useless for PS5 since its hidden So yea, sorry if I sound jaded but overall it does what it needs to do and I recommend this over the others because of the write speed but Im jaded because these things are too expensive and I dont blame you if you decide to just wait it out for a cheaper choice thats an official one or just keep deleting those games if it works for you

I bought the PS5 version of this SSD for my PS5 and couldnt be happier. Install was VERY easy. Watch a youtube video to make sure youre pulling the side panel off correctly, and its way less effort that some folks make you believe. The only thing I took pause on is the screw for the SSD (and spacer) was already installed in the hole further out from the one you need for the length of this SSD. Just remove that screw and spacer, put the spacer under the SSD screw notch once you have the drive in the slot and screw it all down. Piece of cake. Less than 5 minutes start to finsh and the PS5 knew it was there immediately upon started and prompted for format. Moving files from Ps5 drive to the new SSD is blazing fast! Buy it, you wont be disappointed.

Sony has a good YouTube video (title: M.2 SSD Installation for PS5 Console) that makes installing the WD Black SSD very easy. When you turn your PS5 on, it automatically walks you through the quick setup. I bought the 1TB SSD and for $100, it was worth the money. Plenty of storage for the games I have (Modern Warfare, MW2, GTA Online, Sniper Elite 5). If youre worried about storage, get the 2TB SSD. My read / write speed was around 6,500 MB/s during install and it actually has 1TB of usable storage. One tip during installation, be mindful of the silver spacer under the small SSD screw. That spacer needs to be used with the screw to secure the SSD properly. The Sony video shows this of course, but its easy to overlook when youre doing the install. It took me like 15 minutes, but I also cleaned all the dust out under both covers since I was already working on it I might as well clean it.

I am not sure if this is a review or question but the specs on the amazaon listing say Read Speed is 7300MB/s, the box says Up To 7300MB/s and when i have it running on my PS5, it says the read speed is 6303 MB/s. Is this working as expected or what? Seems like a bit of a drop off to me
