I have eight of these smart outlets and just ordered two more. The voice control works great with my Amazon Echo Dots. I also have them working with my Google Home. I havent had any problems with any of them so far. Besides using voice control, the Smart Life app works very well when at a remote location with internet access.. I use three of them to control lamps, one to turn my work bench power on/off, one to turn my electric blanket on before I go to bed, one controls a battery charger, one powers a computer monitor on/off and the last one turns on/off a foot heating pad under my desk. (Dont have to crawl under the desk anymore to turn it on or off). Love the voice control with Alexa. A few minutes before I go to bed at night, I just say Computer, turn on electric blanket. I use the wake-up word Computer instead of Alexa. I highly recommend these cool gadgets. :) Six months later - I now have 10 of these smart outlets and havent had any problems with any of them. All are still working fine. Im still using Echo Dots and a Echo Show to control them and can even do it from my car while driving. I plan on buying a couple more. Great product! EDIT: (12/09/18). Purchased a few more and now have 18. All have worked well and none have failed.

Works well with a wall lamp. But doesnt turn on any appliance that has an on off switch. It wont turn on the appliance without manual intervention. It will turn off or on the wall socket it is plugged into. Also, seems to have a power limit. When plugged into an appliance that draws some serious wattage, it turns itself off.

I love them, I have all kinds of this connected. Only problem is one of them stopped working already after not even a day of being connected. Do wish they were a little smaller so you can use two in one outlet...

As long as you can follow directions, this product works well. When integrating this with Amazon Echo devices, it does take a few steps to set these up. However, once set up, they are excellent.

Summary Pros: -Google Home compatible after downloading the SmartLife app and linking to your assistance -No need for additional steps/requests (turn on x outlet works immediately) -quality outlets at a competitive price -No lag in turning on (though my Home is near the outlets so perhaps distance may affect this in further rooms) Cons: -only one Smart plug will fit in a traditional 2 outlet setup (however you CAN stilluse the 2nd outlet with a traditional plug) Full review: Being brand new to home assistants (specifically Google Home) I purchased this Smart Plug set of 2 as a trial based on the price. I do not have a hub and have heard mixed reviews of hubless items- specifically that they are not as easy to direct and require an additional request. This turned out to not be the case and Im definitely ordering more! First: packaging is simple yet effective. Each comes in its own box with instructions, paired in a little bag. Setup was simple. I decided to test one on my fish tank light. Once plugged in it immediately entered setup mode (instructions for reset to use elsewhere are of course provided) then I downloaded the SmartLife app through Google Home. After a simple click to add a new device it located the outlet and I was able to name it. This was the big test. I had heard non-hub devices require you to ask Google to access the app before requesting to turn on the device but this was not necessary. You simply ask to turn on x light and immediately it does so. Im very pleased at this product and highly recommend it! Just keep in mind that you can only use one smart plug in an outlet as the diameter is too large to fit two (however this DOES NOT block you from being able to use the other outlet with a traditional plug). Smart home, on a budget!

Worked great for about six weeks. Now...they are rather sporadic. They connect with Alexa only when they want and connect with my cell phone in the same manner, only when they wish to do so.

Work great with Alexa and with the button on the side for those rate occasions when wifi is down. Easy to install, but you have to have the phone VERY close to the device when youre first connecting for the app to find it. After installed, works perfectly. The only problem Ive encountered is if youre turning on more than one thing, you have to wait until Alexa is completely done processing the first command and then a few seconds after before you can command her to turn on something else. I would love to have these on everything in my house!

UPDATE: 10-27 Stopped working with Alexa. I had to factory reset delete the skill re enable the skill still wont work. Basically a POS. Really sad because at first I thought these were junk, then they worked (after some effort) now they stopped working with Alexa and I cannot get them to function properly. Crap, stay away from this product you get what you pay for. I had trouble getting one of the devices to connect to wifi even though they were both in the same place when I was setting them up. A second plug barely fits if it has a ground. Will update after usage.

Im giving a pretty high review because I easily set up both of these using the default approach, and the price is good for the feature set. I downloaded the Smart Life app on iOS, created an account (yes, it requires your phone number...Im not too troubled by that). I had one problem giving my full Wifi SSID password, it was too long to enter into the Smart Life app on iOS. So I attached these to my guest network which has a shorter password (and probably a good idea anyway). If not for this one problem I might give a 5-star review. There was also a backup connection approach which makes these their own temporary WiFi AP (a lot of devices do this as an alternative connection means). I did not need to use that, as the plan A approach worked fine for me. I renamed each of these to a good straightforward name and enabled the Alexa Smart Life smart home skill, and discovered the devices. All of this worked flawlessly and I can use the app or Alexa to control these. The Smart Life skill also supports IFTTT for the more advanced home automation tinkerers. My only concern, I guess, is that these require a cloud platform to stay running for them to continue to work - and that means ongoing costs. If the company ever decides to shut this down, these no longer function. Although made in China my two units both connect to EC2 instances in US-West-2 on the MQTT port. You can easily check this by checking your local router to find the assigned IP, then search in the list of open ports what target IP and port they connect to, and then run a whois to find ownership of the related IP block. Anyway, Im counting on these staying operative but I guess there is no guarantee. EDIT: Ive been using these for many months and theyre still great.

These are great, easy to set up and work well. Only problem I see is that they are typical Chinese made products. The plug holes arent tight for the electronic you plug into it, so theres risk it will come out or fall out from being too loose. Which is why I gave these 4 stars rather than 5. Other than that I love them! Especially because they are priced a lot better than others on the market...
