It’s not for anything bigger than a Conure, cockatiel or mini macaw.. sulpher crested in pic would get in the door..

I like this because it has enough room for my cockatiel to move around without hitting his tail against the carrier walls. It also lets him see outside and enjoy some of the breeze. I trained him to get used to the cage for a week or two before taking him anywhere. That had better results than just placing him in the cage. If you immediately cage your bird in a new carrier, they may panic.

I got this backpack so I could take my GCC with me when I go hiking or walking. Her travel cage would be too big and heavy, so I was looking for something safe and lightweight. This certainly seems to fit the bill. I’ve taken her out in it 2-3 times already to get her used to it and she’s sat in there happily and looked at the scenery. It’s a pretty sturdy bag, the wooden perch helps stop it collapsing but even without that it held its shape well. It’s light and comfortable to wear. The only note of caution I would say: the air holes in the side and bottom of the bag are fairly large. My GCC could possibly get her head through if she wanted (she wouldn’t get stuck), but not the rest of her body. For smaller birds, parakeets (budgies), canaries, finches etc, I think they could either escape or get stuck. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase!

I wish it was a bit bigger..i have a cockatoo so he is a little to big for the back pack..i have a goffin. He is a medium sized bird..a umbrella cockatoo would not fit.

Overall happy with the bag. The tray is not hard plastic and very light and due to that it keeps moving. Got this for my Quaker and he likes it so far.

This is a nice carrier, but the included perch was laughably small for an African Grey although the carrier itself would work, snuggly, for a bird of that size. It would be useful to include an option on the ordering page to specify perch diameter options.

    Greater than one week

We take her by my moms house every Saturday. She lets herself in for the short trip. Very sturdy portable environment.

We used this to carry our bird during a house move. We wanted something softer and with no screen for him to get caught on. We did not install the perch because we figured it would be a hazard for him. We noticed the breathing holes were quite large. Since he is curious, we glued circles of window screen to the outside over the air holes to prevent him from sticking his neck through.
