The hardness I got out of this metal after quenching and my heat treating was roughly 62hrc. The metal did require a lots of elbow grease to get all the scratches and blemishes out. But does clean up nicely

I wrote a review of this product some time ago, but it didnt post for some reason. Ill summarize my earlier post. Product arrived quickly and was packaged very well. Appears to be as described, though I havent done anything with them at this point. As some have noted, you wont be making large knifes with these blanks, but that isnt their intended use. I come from a line of Blacksmiths (father and grandfather). I did some hobby stuff in my youth, but went on to do other things for hobbies; mainly cars and woodworking. Due to the popular TV show, Im interested in getting back in to doing some steel work. I have my fathers manual forge blower, antique vise, tools, and anvil. Just need to work on the fire pit and i can get to work.

Bought these to do a couple of knives with a friend who is into knife making. Will update my posting once I have worked with the steel and with a picture of the knives made.

This seems like good metal. I dont know how to verify its properties, but as I use it more, Ill update this if anything changes. Came wrapped well enough. You can see it was not cut up carefully, the ends are still rough with burrs, but not terrible. Couple dings here and there, but nothing that will cause a problem. Dont expect perfect pieces. So far I like it, would recommend.

I’m a hobbyist blacksmith I like making knives swords ornamental, but I’ve been using scrap steel for the last few years. When I saw this, I jumped on it the steel is good quality comes nicely wrapped and oiled to prevent it from rusting. Have a few different knives ideas to make out of these will be ordering more in the future when time permits.

Its shiny, its hard, its magnetic, seems to be exactly what I ordered. Im no expert in making sure its exactly the type/hardness its supposed to be, but either way its steel, and the dimensions are correct. Came packaged well, no moisture, no rust. Ill be sure to update this review after working with some of the pieces, but Im sure Ill be just as pleased with it then as I am now. If you need some small pieces of flat stock for making things, this will do just fine.

These flat stock pieces are perfect for getting knife making started. They came packed tightly and very clean with no rust spots. Will work well for various sizes of knifes. Good price for the material.
