Not sure how much I can write about a little bottle of oil but I purchased this after trying a similar product (as a proof of concept) from a different brand on an old, WELL used but still in great condition Honeywell HT 800 fan. I have already tried this oil after the same issues with the fan cropped up. The motor was trying, BUT itd either go slower than it should have been going OR it was not spinning at all. Its a tad dusty I admit but nothing wrapped around the shaft. It was (best way to say it but may not be the perfect adjective) getting sticky to a point ... just ... like tacky or something .... I cleaned everything off and around various point that hold the shaft in (and especially around where the shaft and the motor come together at the back of the fan, I put a good amount of oil there and as I am typing this ... My Honeywell on LOW is how it was spinning on HIGH before this fix ... I may have to do this every so often but as far as I am concerned ... this oil made my fan good as new. I do agree with others, that clipping the top at the very top most part that you can, makes this a piece of cake to control the flow ... too low and in some use-cases, you will have oil everywhere ... the nozzle makes putting the oil in tight spots, RIGHT WHERE YOU NEED IT, easy. For various little projects, I can totally see myself buying this again. I used it on a fan to make it new again, but I could see this being great for simple stuff like say squeeky cabinet doors that you just live with ... not sure itd work but getting a little bottle of this and trying it out on various things may be worth it

This oil works great for those jobs that require a long lasting presence. The can is great for just adding a drop of oil to the little space where it is needed. I have a little problem getting the cap off. I keep one of these in the garage and in my shed for quick access and usage.

I have always used the 3 in 1 original multi purpose oil. Then I found this and this works perfect to slightly oil the sleeve bushings in these cheap made small table fans. Makes the fans very quiet now, will see how long it lasts, the multi purpose just lasts 1 year, having to take them apart to oil once a year. This will work great in my RC world on my trucks or crawlers when I need something more than a dry lube.

I bought this oil to stop my stepper from squeaking noises. The noise drove me crazy.. I applied all joints on my mini stepper with this oil and the noise just went away!! Noise problem is gone with only $2. I’m so happy with my puchase. Highly recommend it!

As some other reviewers have mentioned, it is important to realize that this is NOT the stereotypical 3-IN-ONE oil that has been used for eons around the house. That other oil was designed as a light household oil and it worked good for those applications. See here:

One of the things that causes many electric motors to fail is those sleeve bearings that dry out after long use and then require costly repair. Oddly enough, many motors have a wick type arrangement that if kept oiled will wick that oil into the bearing area and help the motor las for many(!) years. As others have noted, detergent oil and WD-40 tend to leave debris in the bearing area and cause wear. This oil doesnt have that trait. Final note: If a beraing runs dry, the rotating shaft will tend to smear the metal of the sleeve bearing and thereby block the channels for the oil to wick through the sintered bearing material. This means the only oil that gets to the bearing will be that which you apply directly (and often !) and not from the wicking material. Look up what is meant by sintering. Tha sleeve material only LOOKS solid!

Used this to lubricate a small fan and get it working properly again. Worked wonderfully for that purpose.
