Time to clean my two floor fans and one table fan. For lubricating the fan bearings, 3-in-one oil is just what the doctor ordered.

This oil can easily revive things a lot of people would give up on.

Works great for fans. As was mentioned before in an earlier review cut the tip off as close to the end as possible or else it will be too large to fit inside the oil hole.

My bicycle depends on this oil for its internally geared hub (Yes, the hundred year old patent!). Youd think that when the 3-IN-ONE went from tin-can alley to plastic bottle, that theyd have given you a spout that wouldnt break off in your bike bag. It shouldnt cost more than a few pennies to manufacture a better closure. Knowing the lightning lethargy of progress, I just take off the wrapper and cap then pour the contents into an empty lighter fluid bottle. TAPE THE LABEL AROUND THE REPLACEMENT BOTTLE WITH CLEAR PACKAGE MAILING TAPE. Problem solved. The gears leak enough of this oil on my bike; they dont need help from the bottle itself.

    Greater than one week

As some other reviewers have mentioned, it is important to realize that this is NOT the stereotypical 3-IN-ONE oil that has been used for eons around the house. That other oil was designed as a light household oil and it worked good for those applications. See here:

I have recently gotten in to rescuing old fans. I prefer the old fans with metal blades and barely present guards; I call them finger-remover fans. They will last dang near forever with proper maintenance. This oil is perfect for the bronze sleeves in the motors. It is not too heavy so it gets into all of the nooks and crannys, but yet is not too thin so it doesnt run off or get depleted as quickly. This oil lubricates very well and adds a good layer of lasting protection to the shaft and bushings. I will be buying more of this as needed for my antique fans.

3 in 1 household oil usually what I use in my home.

It says for 1/4hp and up, but it even works great on small wattage sleeve bearing computer fans. I had 2 fans that were acting up and making a humming noise, now theyre running as silent as ever. Didnt even need to take apart, just put a few drops on the shaft and let it seep down. A complete no-brainer for the price, as new fans would have run me $20+

I like that the SAE rating is printed on the can. Great damping fluid for SU carburetors.
