I live in NYC, my bedroom is pretty small but has a sliding door out to a lovely balcony which is a gem in the heart of the city. For years, Ive suffered through the hottest days with a ceiling fan because portable ac units have to be vented out. This year, I broke down and bought a portable unit - Im handy and I researched the various ways to vent the hot air out esp since I have shutters so the kit you can buy specifically for patio doors wasnt going to fit flush and all the insulation required to keep it air-tight. Then I can across this product. For the price, I figured it was worth a try. Its easy to install (just make sure you follow instructions and clean the surface you are sticking the velcro on) with no permanent damage ...I wanted my opening on the opposite side so technically it may be on inside out but the zippers are double + on both sides so it works just fine. Is it 100% air-tight? No. - but its close enough that I dont feel the heat coming back in. better yet, I can unzip and use my door w/o obstructions when its not in use. I usually pin the one side open by closing it in the screen or theres enough velcro left over that you could cut a small square and use to keep flaps open when not in use. Once summer is over, I should be able to take down the white part and store for next year. In any case, it perfectly fits my needs!

I have the most annoying casement windows and it always makes setting up the portable airconditioners very annoying. The Hoomee Universal Seal does a great job of sealing the window from bugs and with the 4 zipper setup, holds the exhaust vent very securely compared to similar brands I have used in prior years.

Horrible directions. Had to watch the video 20x. Still think it was wrong. If you live where it downpours, itll start leaking through the Velcro and soak your floor.

I bought this after freezing all winter to accommodate a vent in an outward-opening casement window in my basement. Prior to buying this, the room would be FREEZING with the window cracked just enough to accommodate the 4 vent, even with blinds drawn and insulated blackout curtains. This thing is incredibly effective at keeping out the cold! The material of the seal is thin, but it can be 30°F out and my room is as warm as if the window were shut. Very impressed. Im still using the blinds and curtains for light control-- YMMV if you used it in a bare window. Havent owned it through hot temperatures yet, but so far very pleased with the purchase. Install was easy. Have not noticed any water or critters getting in, despite it being in a deep window well.

Product works as expected. I have a vertical window that cranks outward w a lever window latch/lock. The Velcro was easy to install and clip/work around window hardware. Velcro is sturdy and holds in place really well. For my style of window there is too much fabric to close the window and latch it closed 100% so I take the insert down each night and put it back up in about 15 seconds each morning. The double zipper is nice but seem extra at least for my style AC unit. Would buy again for a quick and inexpensive solution for portable ACs

I’m staying pretty neutral on my stars. I was going to say this wasn’t easy to put up nor is it convenient to be in a doorway but I realized after reading other reviews they sent me a window one in a door way package! Whoops! I got it up there with some tucking and pulling but I can’t use my door anymore, other than that, it works! Used some duct tape to keep the bugs out

For several years I struggled with the problem of effectively sealing my double French window in order to vent my portable AC. Best I could do was cut to fit and wrestle into place a gi-normous piece of cardboard cut from a shipping box to cover the full window frame. Blocked the light, less than airtight, and really, really Ugly. This is a simple, low tech solution. The double-access zipper tags (intended for 2-hose ACs), allow for a hand to reach out to adjust and reposition the (single) vent hoses snout when necessary while maintaining a grip on the hose. While not exactly an aesthetic ideal, the strip of white fabric is far more discreet than cardboard, only one side of the window is open, just enough to accommodate the width of the hose. The curtains remain in place, I have daylight, and the street view is barely noticeable. And, yes(!), the AC cools efficiently. Because it had to line the top of the one open side of the window as well as the vertical gap between the two, it took nearly the whole length of the fabric, with only inches to spare. I am in a drought area, so had only one wind/rain event in several months, but it held up to it. Once the weather cooled and the AC stored, I had to also remove the hook strip of the velcro to be able to close the window normally. It lost most of its sticky, so may have to buy/cut some new next time.

Using this for a portable air conditioner and an outward opening casement window. I was worried about installation since the window is a bit old and oddly shaped but it worked out. I couldnt lay the adhesive strips where the guide specifies they should go, instead opting for the inner most track of the open window and outer most track of the window frame so that the strips are right next to each other when the window is closed. This created a very nice seal all around except for 3 on the hinge side. I measured correctly but for some reason the 300 cm version was still a bit too short. Luckily, it doesnt really matter as there is only a slight gap when the window is open the small amount it needs to be for the exhaust hose. The adhesive strips seem like they are holding well and the material held up in a windy rainstorm. Overall I am happy with the purchase.

Works well for using with condo windows and portable air conditioner. Mine is a single hose design but the second opening is useful to work around the window handle which would create an issue. With the constant opening and closing my lasted three seasons before I pinched the plastic when closing the window, causing small holes to appear. Also eventually the seal does get dirty from outside pollution so it is a good idea to replace it. The price is reasonable so replacing it every three years of constant opening and closing is a good value. I remove it during the winter so it stays on roughly 7 months out of the year.
