The Aircom S9 unit does the job for cooling my AV receiver. Its easy to set up and quiet, especially in auto mode. Good purchase for us.

Works great and quiet

Anthem, Consumer Advocate Great idea to cool your stereo or live sound equipment. Automatic function is great; will automatically kick on when needed. Is indeed quiet and helps with wear and tear on hot equipment. Only criticism is the price. Well made, however, you are paying for what it does, not how its made or the materials its made from.

Nice product makes me wonder why high end home theater receivers dont have a Built-in fan anymore.Looks like this is just another way to grab some more of your money to protect a serious investment. Watching John Wick 2 my new Marantz receiver shut off due to what I think was overheating.. I orderd this mid-movie while i let the receiver cool down..This fan seems to keep the receiver in check.

I have a Denon AVR-X6400H receiver. This thing has no problem powering my 9-channel ATMOS setup. It does, however, put out a lot of heat. I decided to avoid a receiver meltdown and augment cooling duty with the AIRCOM S9. At 17 wide it is the same width as the Denon. The finish of the S9 is also similar. I think it looks great sitting atop my AVR. Two buttons on the faceplate provide all the adjustability I need. One caveat - the S9 is quiet, not silent. This is not a criticism as sound should be expected from a unit that can move as much air as the S9. Just keep it in mind. My AVR stand is about 8 feet behind my listening position. I will place a couple of foam acoustic panels on the side of the stand facing the listening position and I am confident that will do the trick. So, it works great, looks great and I would recommend it.

Does what it says. I am using the second lowest fan speed (which is pretty quiet) and it keeps my receiver cool. Silent only at lowest fan speed but whatever you are listening to will probably drown out the sound from the fan. Good buy.

Performs as it was advertised

I have spent close to a week with it now. I purchased both the S9 and the S6. The HT setup is always running and i have this cooler sitting on an xpa5 from Emotiva. If you run dedicated amps then you all know how warm these things run. No longer the case. The best feature of this product is that its fully automated. Set it and forget it. I have yet to see the coolers run more then a quarter speed the entire time. I was watching Mortal Kombat yesterday and the amps were getting pushed hard on certain scenes. This is an amazing product and like others have mentioned here already built quality, IMO, is above average considering companies really cut corners these days. I had it setup and running in < 5 minutes.

Works as described. The smart mode is nice. So far so good.
