I had this camera for work but was unable to use it for a ZoomRoom. This camera is great and works as advertised, but we were unable to use it as intended because it does not support PTZ over USB. Our ultimate goal was to use the camera in a ZoomRoom, but we were unable to control the camera from the rooms iPad controller because the camera did not support PTZ over USB. However, this is an excellent low-cost PTZ camera with very good zoom!

I am pleasantly surprise with the low price point for a NDI certified PTZ camera, and yet it truly delivered. The user manual is not very helpful if you are going to use third party software like OBS Studio, which is what we use. We connect the camera to a POE Switch, and the IP is immediately detected and we set it to static IP. OBS immediately detected the NDI Source and added without issue. We had problem with PTZ Control within the OBS. Turns out, we should just leave the setting on Remote Config > Protocol to > Enabled > Server > TCP - 5678, leave the IP as 0.0.0.0. On OBS PTZ Control - choose Visco TCP, set it to the NDI Source > enter ACTUAL IP of the camera > Port 5678. I will update the review after we mount it to the ceiling. No mount is included, but you can search “PTZ camera ceiling mount” and you will see a few.

My AV tech support Jenny was amazing and was with my for more than an hour troubleshooting until she could find and fix my mess in my network. the camera is pretty good for the price I recomend it. unfortunately my second one never arrived but it was the carrier fault so still buying more from AVKANS.

The Product works good......now that Jenny in the technical support group helped me understand about changing the IP address from DHCP to Static in order to enjoy the full features of the camera on my computer!!

Worked okay, but the NDI feature is mostly worthless. The video quality over HDMI was fine, but via NDI it was not great (makes sense since its NDI|HX @ only ~10 Mbps vs. Full NDI high bandwidth at ~100 Mbps vs 2970 (!) Mbps for 3G-SDI). Whats worse is the control latency over Ethernet is way too slow, both via their own AVKANS CameraCMS as well as NDI Studio Monitor, both over Gigabit Ethernet. Part of that is the NDI|HX protocol itself (full NDI or at least NDI|HX3 is much lower latency), but even with a direct HDMI feed it was too laggy for my needs, so its definitely an issue with the camera itself as well. Saving presets helps of course, but sometimes things still need tweaking and it was a pain to do so. Unfortunately the cheapest Full NDI cameras are $1900, so Ill just have to go back to a non-NDI workflow, at which point you can spend a bit more than this and get even better video quality (and hopefully workable control latency).

The camera works great for what I need, but the customer service is even better! Quick responses and provides help to fix whatever problems I may be having.

I have three of these cameras and enjoy using them. The image is a little soft which is good for the complexion. They were easy to setup and connect to my controller (PTZOptics superjoy). The tech support has been helpful and fast. I have only contacted them for firmware updates and questions related to that. It will only track one person. If there are other people in the frame it may lock on one you do not wish to track. However, if that is the case you can take it off auto tracking and use you controller. The camera has smooth start and stop functions. I only wish they would put the smooth start and stop on their other cameras like the 20x and 30x. I believe it was money well spent.

How do you locate the camera/s IP Address? The remote sent with the camera does not have a * or # key for *#4...

For my business that I both Zoom and lecture, I bought this auto tracking Avkans camera. I got it and had it up and running for my Zooms using USB cable, in 15 minutes. Then today, I connected a HDMI cable to the camera and to my ATEM Mini Pro. Worked perfect again. Full control of video in Menu on remote control. Set it to 1080p using the micro dip switches on the camera. Used the remote to both set presets and auto track. Read the instructions, and its actually quite easy to get up and running! And the camera performs as advertised! Thanks Avkans!
