> 24 hourThis. Thing. Rocks. What more can I say? You arent going to get any better than this at home short of going onto carpet cleaning specialty sites and buying an 800-5k machine. The suction is great and rooms are dry within 2 hours. This thing is so strong (and the rolling brush is such a good design) that it actually pulled up embedded fur from a pet that hadnt lived in the house for 2 years. (backstory: we have had a black-haired dog for 6 months and have lived in the house for 2 years (no dog prior to Gilbert). I vacuum multiple times a week. The previous renters had had a white dog over 2 years ago.) Mind you, I thoroughly cleaned the carpet when we moved into the house with a rug doctor. And yet, two years later I was pulling up white fur. Vacuuming regularly with a shark and a dyson for two years did not pick this stuff up. I think it works. :) I was appalled and pleased in equal measure when I used it. It was so GROSS to see all that stuff.... brown/charcoal water full of fur, dust, dirt, sand, grass...you name it. By the same token, so pleased to know that was all out of my carpet. Further grossed out by the fact that it was almost as dirty the second time around....and yet further pleased. You get the idea. Having rented a rug doctor three different times to do multiple rooms each time, I am quite familiar with them. I have to say that I love using this Bissell SO MUCH MORE. Pros when compared to the rug doctor: 1.) It is more comfortable to use (handle pivots at the bottom in stead of the top). 2.) I cannot overstate how awesome it is to be able to go forward and backward. The RD only drags backward. It is more comfortable, MORE EFFICIENT, and more intuitive to move both directions. If you dont believe me, try dragging your vacuum backwards, and then locking the head up, tilting it off the floor to go back to the top of the stroke and then doing a whole room that way. 3.) REMOVABLE TANKS. REMOVABLE TANKS. REMOVABLE TANKS. Good luck if you finish and have leftover solution in the RD. Good luck. Also, makes it super easy to transport and clean. 4.) Did I mention being able to move FORWARD & backwards? 5.) Spinning brush head actually pulls things up out of the carpet fibers instead of juts agitating them. Just like your vacuum. While the agitating bar might be a unique feature of the RD, Im not so sure that its working in RDs favor. About the only reason I could recommend that type of brush would be that it is probably more gentle on carpets. The black clumps that people complain about with this machine are real and they largely consist of carpet fibers and pet hair that were pulled up with other debris mixed in. If you vacuum adequately, these clumps are few and the machine sucks most of them up anyway. 6.) Flow indicator: that little spinning thing is super helpful to show you when youre out of solution and it works just like its supposed to. 7.) THIS MACHINE IS MEANT TO BE SERVICEABLE! THAT MEANS YOU CAN BUY REPLACEMENT PARTS IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG. This is a HUGE bonus. If something breaks, you dont have to scrap your whole machine. Professional through and through. And those parts are easily attainable right on Bissells own website. Try that with your Waldemort special. Wont happen. Other pros include the fact that it folds down and is easily store-able, has a hose attachment which does work well and is amply long, uses less solution than many other cleaners (youd be surprised how little water is actually necessary to still clean well), the tanks are large enough to do a whole room. Long story short- Im in love with this machine and so happy that I purchased it. Also, 5 year warranty. Epic. Update a year later: I have now used this multiple times in two different houses and have used it to clean my cars upholstery as well as couches. Excellent every time. The hose is plenty long for doing your car (if you move it around to each door) and couches. Every time I clean our carpets, they stand up much more and are noticeably revived. This rolling brush perks up your carpet much more than a normal vacuum (Dyson or Kirby). Still as happy with it as the day I bought it!

> 24 hourGot this to replace my parents Hoover which has been sorely abused and used due to the pet messes and insane amounts of carpet cleaning I have had to do. I will highlight on some of the good points and some of the bad. Pros: Excellent brush and suction control, had I used the Hoover over this, my carpet would STILL be wet 20 minutes later. At the same mark, using this machine the carpet was just Damp with a hint that it was just cleaned and completely dry within the hour.*Drying conditions vary upon environment, material, temp and humidity levels of the area being cleaned. The suction hose Locks in tight and has a rubber gasket to ensure maximum suction, the design is also loaded directly into the soiled water holding tank from the top unlike the Hoover which spills all of its nastiness back onto the floor that was previously in the hose. Its advised that you walk the water back into the tank (Hold the head of the hose up high in the air to make a straight line as possible with the hose into the holding tank to reduce residue when you detach the hose (make sure unit is running during this time). The soiled water compartment is extremely easy to detach, dump and clean. Unlike the Hoover which has a filter inside of the soiled water compartment, this one has a wide mesh filter so only the heaviest of particles get caught in it (works wonders on soiled carpet thats covered in dog hair, no more stopping and having to clean the filter) Easy foldup and store for later design, the machine is actually LIGHTER than my Hoover. It does tend to be a little bit more heavier when fully loaded with solution. Machine does not have a separate vat for solution, it requires the solution to be mixed with HOT water (Faucet Hot, not steaming hot). However if your just doing a general spill pickup, loaded regular water and you should be fine. Cons: A bit harder to turn than my Hoover but not much more. Tends to get caught up a little bit more on carpet seems (from tile to carpet) and such but then again, this is also the design of the machine to ensure maximum contact with the carpet. This thing really did an excellent job cleaning dog diarrhea out of my carpet that was standing for some time (Looked like a giant cookie by the time I got home from work and found it) This is the best machine between Commercial and Home Use, a mixture of both at a decent price. DOES NOT HAVE A HEATER! Then again, you shouldnt be using a steamer on Carpet to begin with, especially with wood floors underneath. Best way to clean a stain from a carpet. 1. Clean ASAP 2. Put a pre solution down, I generally like to dilute Dawn Dish Soap in hot water and use it on the stain, let it set for about five minutes. 3. Power up the BG and go over it with solution mixed in hot water, pass over the area a few times or until stain is removed. Allow to dry and vacuum after to restore the fluff of the carpet. Never, ever ever use steam on a carpet stain. This permanently sets the discoloration of the stain into the carpet and ruins it. Steaming carpets also destroys the hardwood underneath the floor so if you enjoy floor rot, I would highly recommend using a cold water machine like the BG. This did an excellent job bringing the water back up over my Hoover. (As long as you can get as much water up as possible your hardwood should be OK) Do not use on hardwood or laminate wood composite floors.

> 24 hourWe had set in pet stains from our puppies that were awful! I was embarrassed to have anyone come to the house. We had the carpet professionally cleaned, but that didnt help much at all. As a last resort before buying all new carpet, I decided to order the Bissell Big Green Pet Pro Carpet Cleaner. The reviews were good, so I thought it was worth a try. It was amazing! It met all of my expectations & then some! Two people who had seen my carpet before & after, couldnt believe the results! They both said That is quite the machine! I would buy this carpet cleaner again with no hesitation! It is excellent & easy to use!!

> 24 hourEve though the tip of the hose was broke off and couldn’t be used this carpet cleaner is the bomb. I ordered a new hose but haven’t had the chance to use it yet. With 3 dogs and 2 cats there are going to be messes. This godsend of a carpet cleaner has absolutely no problem sucking it all up to leave behind a carpet that looks almost brand new.

> 24 hourOur carpet is 13 years old. It is a very high quality dense pile plush carpet. It’s light beige and had slowly become dirty enough that I was considering replacing it. We regularly vacuum and do not wear shoes in the house. At roughly 1500 sq feet of carpet, this was going to be quite expensive if replacing, so I decided to invest in this Bissell Big Green machine. Our Hoover Steamvac never seemed to get the carpet fully clean and it no longer could remove the traffic patterns no matter how hard I tried. I had about given up and the Bissell Big Green machine was our last hope. I’m happy to say that our carpet has been brought back to “almost” new. After shampooing with this new machine, if I asked someone about our carpet I’m sure they would think it’s new. This machine is amazing! I had to erase 13 years of use, and this is my procedure. Vacuum VERY well first. There is not need to make the machine pick up stuff that you could have gotten with the vacuum! Fill the tank with hot tap water and use the recommended Bissell PRO shampoo at the recommended dose. (two cups for a full tank) I pretreat the heavily soiled areas with the Bissell spray stain pretreatment and rub it into the carpet by hand. After 5 minutes of letting that soak, I pick a section of carpet roughly 6 feet wide by 10 feet long and do one forward pass and one backward pass over that whole section with the shampoo being dispensed. I do a row forward then back, then move over and do a row and so forth. I then go back over that area only sucking up the residual shampoo/water. without dispensing more shampoo. I then repeat with a second forward and reverse pass with shampoo and another pass to suck up the residual water. I then do a third and final forward and reverse pass with shampoo followed by sucking up the residual water. By this point the carpet has typically been fully cleaned. If not, I go over any areas as needed. Typically during the second to third pass is when you really see the magic happening. Typically, on the first pass with shampoo the machine will pickup and leave many dirty carpet balls in it’s wake. This is all the crud that the brushes are pulling out of the carpet. Im not sure why my vacuum cant get this stuff, but the Green Machine pulls up stuff that you didnt know existed in your carpet. In my case, these are NOT carpet fibers, but rather small hairs, dust, etc. and they are dark gray/black clumps. Normally I can suck these back up just by passing back over them with the machine. They end up in the dirty water bucket and get poured out when emptying the bucket. The machine works wonders and I’ve been able to completely remove traffic patterns. It takes some time, but be patient. This machine is head and shoulders above your typical home use carpet shampooer. I haven’t been more happy with a purchase in quite some time. This literally saved us thousands of dollars and our carpet looks practically BRAND NEW after 13 years of use. Attached are photos of some of our carpet just before using this machine, and about ½ way through cleaning this particular room. Even if this machine puked on me today, I’ve gotten my money’s worth. Couldn’t be happier. It’s about as loud as a vacuum cleaner. I haven’t tried any of the attachment, as I already have a hand held portable upholstery/stair cleaner. Highly recommnded.

> 24 hourFinally , after a long while, I used the Big Green Machine yesterday. I was impressed, really pulled the dirt out. I used it again today just on the high traffic areas and it pulled even more dirt out.

> 24 hourI have previously owned a Bissell but it wasnt a deep cleaner. After reading the reviews and Amazon running this on a lightning deal, I purchased it. After vacuuming all the carpets, I started this machine up. I have used a Rug Doctor and thought that it did a fair job. This machine BLOWS a Rug Doctor out of the water. It came already assembled, all I had to do was remove all of the packing material and lift the handle. My first impression: 1. While heavy, it maneuvers very easily. Much easier than the Rug Doctor. I attribute this to the fact that the handle pivots forward and back like a vacuum cleaner does rather than being stationary. 2. I liked that you didnt have to fill a bucket or other tank to fill the clean reservoir. The clean tank comes out of the machine to be filled. 3. This thing SUCKS! I mean that in a good way. When using the RD (rug doctor) the carpet always stayed wet for hours. With this machine, even with spraying in a forward motion and then again when pulling backwards (so 2 applications of solution with only one removal), on a second pass to remove the water, there was very little left in the carpet. 4. I LOVE that I can see the water that has been pulled out of the carpet. It lets me know just how much water is being put down and how much is being pulled back out. 5. The machine does tell you when you are out of solution and its easy to see the level by looking at the tank. Its similar to knowing how much milk is left in the carton thru a frosted surface. 6. Dumping the waste water is fairly easy. The only downside is that once you remove the top portion (where you see the water being sucked into the waste tank) there is nothing really to hold onto when dumping the tank since the handle is on the top part. 7. Even after thoroughly vacuuming the carpet, this machine found hair that my commercial vacuum did not get out of the carpet. 8. We do have a cat and dog. The dog is very stubborn and if anything hits the floor, she either will try to eat it or cover it up by peeing on it. There was a single spot that after treating with an enzyme solution and cleaning with the RD, there was still an odor. After a single pass with this machine, the odor was gone and there was no longer a strange feeling to that part of the carpet. 9. When using the RD, I felt that I had to go over the carpet several times, keeping in mind that all of our carpet is under 3 years old. With this machine, I could tell with my bare feet that there was a definite difference to how the carpet felt after just one pass. 10. The carpet was dry within 3 hours even in the areas that I had made a forward and backwards pass. Our carpet has a pretty deep pile as well. About 3/4 of an inch in length to give you an idea of what type it was used on. 11. The only problem that I had was operator error. When I filled the tank the second time, I did not get them lined up exactly right and it would put water down but nothing was being pulled back up. I unhooked the latch, reseated the top tank and viola! Back in business. So far I have not found any downsides to this machine but I will check back in after the next time I use it.

> 24 hourWell, we have cats, and cats as everyone knows, as well has other pets, do have accidents. Hair balls throwing up etc. Now humans are different our accidents involve spilled food, drinks, mud dragged thru the house on shoes etc. So we need a good machine that will do the job of cleaning carpets and removing stains. Did I mention cleaning upholstery? In the past we rented machines from different companies, 40/50 dollars a day +plus travel to and from rental. So figuring in travel time, cost of rental and needing a machine when ever a accident happens.. Well you can see a Rug scrubber fits the bill. So why Bissell and not rug doctor? Weve rented rug doctor in the past and wasnt impressed by it. We also rented Big green That we were impressed with the way it cleans and ease of operation. Vacuum to suck up water works great, Has a indicator to inform you when solution is gone, rug doctor..not so much, Big Green also has a hose attachment to use on you upholstery and use it on car seats and hard to rach carpeting spots. Works great all a round. Handle folds up when not in use, power cord is long. Draw backs? The machine is a little bulky and heavy. Other than that... no other draw backs. Big question would I buy again after using the machine .Yes I would. Did I look at other machines other than Rug Doctor And Bissell? Yes I did. Kept coming back to Big Green and bought that Best decision I made on a carpet cleaner

> 24 hourCleans so much better than my old bissell which I spent more time refilling and scrubbing my carpet on my hands and knees. I pretreat my carpet and can shampoo an entire room without stopping to refill with my new one
