Had a friend coming to stay for a few days who is allergic to cats. We planned for my cat to stay away by being kept in another room, but there was still the matter of her hair all over the living room furniture. I had not vacuumed the furniture in months. One thorough pass with this vacuum was all that was needed. My friend didn’t even need to take the Benadryl she brought with her.

I got this little vacuum for my laundry room. I have 3 dogs and that means I get lots of hair along with lint in my dryer filter. When I wash the boys kennel bedding the fur level is at its peak. But everyday washing still generates a lot of lint and some fur. I used to drag my large upright vacuum into the laundry room put the hose and extension on and then have to walk and work around it just so I could vacuum the fuzz from my lint filter and off the floor and that nice little spot between the filter and the door that just likes to catch every piece of fuzz and fur and who knows what imaginable. My laundry room is in one of my bathrooms and if I didnt get the laundry all done that day, the vacuum would stay in there and really be in the way. So began my hunt for a little dust busting vacuum. This little sucker has a hose attachment with just the right tip so I can get into the lint filter cubby and all the other little spots lint builds up in. It does get full quick because now I just suck the entire lint filter clean with it. But it has some serious suction and picks everything up. Its nothing like the dust busters I remember from my childhood that my mother would fight with because it was worthless. The cord is very long. Its a very light unit making it a snap to carry and store. The tank snaps off with ease and you can carry it to the garage without it dropping its contents everywhere. The fan on the side is very powerful and the filter does a great job. Overall this little unit is impressive and the $40.00 I spent on it is nothing compared to its convenience and friendliness.

I have a long haired cat that kitty litter gets stuck in the fur on her feet and she tracks it out all over the carpet. This works GREAT for vacuuming that litter up. Not so great for hair, but I have another one for that .....I do like this and bought another one

This is absolutely worth every single penny. We clean our carpet/stairs pretty regularly, but clearly by the picture a lot was being left behind. I’m both appalled and amazed by the amount of cat hair and general debris this thing picks up. Buy it! You won’t be disappointed.

I like the size and the suction for dog hair. The carpet attachment is good. I also like the long electric cord. You really need the separate side air deflectors. The other attachments are good. The only negative is when you push on the side deflectors, it makes it impossible to store the unit and attachments in the box and Im afraid of losing some attachments. I now need to buy some type of container to store everything. It would be better if the deflectors were included with the vacuum.

The vacuum has great suction power, its light weight and long power-cord makes it convenient to use. Its filters ridged structure is effective in catching dirt but quite tedious to clean. I wish that its accessories includes a round vacuum brush (such as showed in the photo), but unfortunately Bissel does not make one. To make the matter worse the vacuums hose attachment opening uses a non-standard 1-5/16 thus preventing use of plug-n-play aftermarket accessories & adapters. My only viable solution is to find a slightly larger diameter brush 1-3/8 and sanded down 1/16 with a Dremel rotating sander.

This hand vac is basically the same as the model 33A1, but also includes an attachable flexible hose, a crevice tool, and a brush attachment. I think the additional flexiblity of this model is worth the extra money because the tools can get into areas that the larger head on the main unit cant. I have 3 cats, two long hair and one short hair, and a long haired dog. The main problem I had was the cat hair. The long hair mats into the furniture, and most vacuums I tried would ball it up and then pick up part of the clump. The short hair pokes into upholstery like so many little spikes. I sometimes wondered if they were barbed at one end to hold them into the upholstery. When I ordered this vacuum, I had high hopes that it would replace the numerous tools that I used to get most of the hair off of furniture. I was not disappointed!! It still takes some time and effort to get all of the hair, but this vacuum does it so much better in much less time. The air venting from the sides of the vacuum hasnt been a problem for me because the hair on the upholstery is not loose and doesnt blow easily. I dont think the purpose of this vacuum is to pick up feathers or dust from a smooth surface. Its purpose is to remove pet hair from furniture. Its very possible that the people complaining about the air vents blowing dust should have bought a hand vac that was designed for a purpose other than getting pet hair off of upholstery. In my opinion, this vacuum works great for the purpose that it was designed for.

This was amazing for my couch! Will be super useful for small areas my vacuum can’t get to either

Im halfway through a 4-week stay at a hotel and Ive got my cat with me. Leading up to this transition between my old home and my new one, I was apprehensive at the thought of living in such close quarters with my cat, dealing with his hair and tracked litter. Yuck!! Ive had my Bissell handheld vac nearly 6 months but previously only used it occasionally - under normal living conditions, its the full sized vacuum that gets used. But here at the hotel I use the hand vac daily. I have a lidded plastic container for the vac. Pulling it out, plugging it in and getting rid of the bits of litter and then shoving the vac back into the container couldnt be easier. It isnt too heavy, I love the placement of the on/off switch (you can easily turn it on and off with the hand youre using to hold it) and the cord is long enough that I keep part of it wrapped up in the pre-attached velcro strip. I find that I mostly use the straight piece rather than the rubbery attachment. If anyone is contemplating living in a hotel room - or other small space - with a cat, heres how I avoid having to deal with stray pet hairs going up my nose ... I place the cat in the dry bathtub, sit on the edge, and brush him down good with his rubber Kong brush. As anyone knows who has used one of those rubber brushes, they accumulate a lot of hair and while most of it sticks to the brush some of it flies around a bit. After Im done, I use the hand vac to clean off any cat hair that has stuck to the tub. I also have a sheet that I cover the bed with during the day and in the evening I hold it over the dry tub to shake the cat hair off, then use the hand vac in there. So thats my story. Oh, and it also works great around your tv chair if you happen to scatter bits of popcorn. :)
