Cackle Hatchery Laying Hen Nest Box Pads - 13 x 13 (6 Pack)

My hens love laying on these nesting pads. When I use straw they sometimes lay on the floor but when these are in the nest I find all of my eggs in the nest. My only issue is that the hens like to scratch them up and I do replace them often. I have bought them three times now and will continue to use.

I like them because they are very easy to use. Just put them in the nesting box and they will pull them apart and make a nest. Very convenient.

My chickens love these nest pads. I tried to buy an alternative that was slightly less expensive and found broken eggs daily in their coop. I have never had a broken egg with these and have been using them for the last year. I wont buy anything else now.

Hens refuse to lay eggs in any nesting box that Ive put these in. If all nesting boxes have this then they will lay their eggs in the coop or even outside. I can change to have one nesting box be wood shavings and then they will use the nesting box with the shavings and then I can switch which one has the pad and they go for the box that has shavings. The only way they will use a nesting box with these pads is if there is a sufficient amount of wood shavings on top of it so they dont know its there. So I guess there is just something about this material they dont like.

I really was disappointed that this didn’t work out better considering the good reviews. My chickens would poop on them and you can’t clean them at all. I felt like they look great but functionally they didn’t last us long due to cleanliness issues.

My chickens shredded and kicked these out the first day. Then they started eating the paper. Expensive and what a waste.

Not really cleanable when an egg breaks but I love these over shavings or straw. They stay put in the nest boxes since they are attached at the bottom. I love that. They have been in my boxes for 5 months and are in great shape still!

My hens love laying on these so much more than wood shavings. They last for several months.
