Cackle Hatchery Laying Hen Nest Box Pads - 13 x 13 (6 Pack)

My hens destroyed these and kicked them out of the nesting boxes, just like they did with the hay. Only it took three days instead of two.

By the time I scraped off the paper attached to each pad ; there wasn’t much left!

Unfortunately the chickens did not like the material and made a mess of this as much as shavings

This was an experiment for me on this item. Thought Id give it a try. While I found the idea of the product interesting, in actual use they didnt last a day. Disappointing. The laying hens, with their strong feet, had them shredded, torn up, and all over the place in no time! Back to the drawing board. Dont recommend for chickens...maybe rabbits?!?

My chickens love these nest pads. I tried to buy an alternative that was slightly less expensive and found broken eggs daily in their coop. I have never had a broken egg with these and have been using them for the last year. I wont buy anything else now.

The nest pads have a backing, so when removing them for replacement, they fold easily, making clean up easier.

Great size and very thick, so far so good!

I think Ed that they were easy to place in our boxes. I didn’t like that my girls shredded them so quickly. Lasted only about 3 weeks before needing replaced.
