I bought this air compressor 4 years ago. About 18 months the air compressor would fall on its face when letting air out the hose. I contacted support and they were very unhelpful. Simple things like asking me for purchase date and model number when I had included that in my original contact email. The warranty was for 12 months, so they wanted nothing to do with helping me out other than sending me a link to the parts page. Through some troubleshooting, I found the regulator to be faulty. I removed the regulator and the internal bits and found a lot of corrosion. I cleaned and lubricated the regulator pieces, but the output pressure was still stuck at ~20 PSI. Today, I had enough and took matters into my own hands. I removed the regulator and installed an brand regulator and mounted it on the compressor bracket. California Air Tools wanted $60 for the regulator, which is a ridiculous price for a part that failed so quickly. All is well now and I have the compressor back to working as intended. If California Air Tools reads this, I would suggest they use regulator internal parts that dont corrode so easily.

Back hose was loose and leaked air went to tighten the bolt barly touched it and it snapped off due to the fittings being glued in. Went to take the one of the tank to match up the size and that one snapped off to due to being glued in guess there not made to be fixed with out pieces being snapped off

This is my second air compressor. I was limited in use of my 15 gallon cheap compressor to the hours of the day when no one was on the telephone or watching television. It sounds like a freight train and shakes the house. This compressor is far quieter. Even after reading the descriptions, I was surprised how quiet it is. Plenty of air for staple, brad and pin nailers - it can even handle the big framing nailer, if you can move at a slow pace for a while. Light enough to carry to the work, I might eventually rig up a hand trolley for it at some point.

Wow...this bugger is quiet. Not like refrigerator-running-quiet but compared to my last compressor...Wow!!! I can carry on a conversation standing right next to it. I had an issue after my first time using it...I used the relief valve to release the air in the tank. ( i was checking to make sure it worked). After that I dint use it for a few days and it WOULD not RUN. Couldnt figure out why. Called the CAT hotline and they helped me troubleshoot it. All good and no problems since. ( the pressure switch got stuck in the open postion and the motor stopped) once I got that unstuck...ALL GOOD!

Customer works from home. Bought this because my old air compressor is so noisy. This was exactly what I wanted. A quality air compressor that is quiet. I was able to talk with my customer standing by it. We couldn’t believe how quiet it is. Great job California Air Tools!

Super quiet, but thats why I bought it. Well packaged, it survived intact as I watched the UPS man roll it out the door of the truck (yes, he rolled the square box up the aisle and was end-over-ending it down the stairs when I told him to stop and I would take it from there). At roughly 45lbs, its not heavy, but still not light; however, definitely light enough to carry out of a truck. Would be nice to see an aluminum frame for even more weight savings. The on/off switch is not readable unless you have a clear angle as its black on black. I simply wrote on/off with a white marker to make identification quicker, especially in low light. Because of the small capacity it took some time to fine adjust the regulator to (110psi max) without going below. Once I found it, I marked the spot as a reference. I was easily able to adjust the low limit switch to 95psi (factory appeared to be ~85psi) to ensure my nailer didnt fall below minimum. Finally I dont get interrupted by the compressor, and the baby can still sleep when I work inside. For reference, I replaced a bostich pancake with this unit. I swear the bostich was louder than my 5hp shop compressor. This compressor is being used for nail guns only. You could fill tires and do the occasional blast of air, but capacity is lacking for any flowing air application.
