Canon MP480 All-in-One Photo Printer

The title just about says it all. The quality of this printer is fine. Ive owned many printers in my life, but this is by far the biggest ink hog I have ever had.

This printer is great! My printed and copied documents print quickly, the scanner is very easy to use, and pictures print beautifully! I scanned a school picture and printed if off, it looked professionally printed, I couldnt believe the quality! Im very happy with this printer and glad that ink isnt very expensive!

The printer is good for what I need but it has a couple small issues. The display screen will not open all the way. Additionally, the paper feed is intermittent and registers no paper when there is actually paper. All and all for the price, it will suit my needs fine. I have experience with Canon printers so I can trouble shoot these issues when they arise.

The price on this printer was great, I bought it just to print a newsletter that I send out every month. I used to print this on a Pixma IP3500 and used 2 1/2 black cartridges at $13 each. This one used 4 cartridges at over $20 each! Id have trouble recommending this one, the cheap price will be quickly made up by the cost of the ink!

I see that we have owned this since early March, 2009, nearly six years. We sell online and do a lot of printing. This printer has served us well. We actually own another. its a good thing... I had an error message just now. The Ink absorber is full. Who knew? I have researched the steps. It is kind of a dirty job. And the counter must be reset. The information is freely available online. The new part is only available from Canon. Here on Amazon they sell six models. I was unable to determine which one is for this machine. We will switch them out.

The printer itself is decent. Its relatively attractive and easy to use. The quality of copies and photos is fine. Its noisier and slower than Id prefer, but I can live with that. What I cant live with is a printer that goes through ink so fast that I surpassed the cost of the printer after the third ink refill, and I buy the XL size refills! I find myself being extremely judicious about printing anything to try and conserve the short life of these cartridges. Dont buy it. No printer is worth this much inconvenience or money.

I purchased this printer two weeks ago to replace an unsatisfactory Kodak printer. The MP480 has a fairly small footprint, and it handles paper quite well. As for printing? Excellent. Even on the cheap (20#) all-purpose paper I use much of the time, colors are bright and clear, and so are the images. It will make you wonder whether all is well as it grumbles to itself while it prepares to print, but its fine, and you can turn down the noise for color printing. Its too early to tell whether it uses a great deal of ink, but even so, its a dependable, highly competent printer for the price.

This is an attractive printer that gives great results,but it is a little slow starting up. If youre looking for fast this probably isnt for you but if you want great results at a very reasonable price this is a winner.

absolute piece of sh*t. paper constantly jammed, shredded or pulled in sideways. now it wont print at all. error message says paper is jammed but there is no paper or any other foreign matter inside it. complete waste of money.

Its easy to use. Gives great color for documents and photos. More than adequate for home use. Ink use is OK but Ive had other models that use less ink with just as good color.,
