Greater than one weekIts true! I thought it was all hype & finally decided to try one of these combs after decades of using cheap combs that look exactly like the Buttercomb. Im now convinced. I dont know what Chris Christensen did to make this comb work better, but it truly does. I was shocked. This is the only comb I use anymore on my longcoated toy dogs!

> 3 dayI saw a video of a dog groomer. She recommended this comb. I am not a groomer but it is money well spent. Moves well thru hair, does exactly what it says.

> 3 dayI read all the reviews for a month or more that said this comb was so worth the money but just couldnt justify the price. I mean, its a dog comb and we already had two others. Let me just say this right now. I was wrong. This little gem is worth the price tag, whatever the going rate is. Our Shih Tzu is almost 5 months into a full coat and her hair was turning into a nightmare for us and her. We already had the Chris Christensen Coral Brush and Pin Brush, but as her hair grows out the comb seems to be the only thing that works. This thing is unbelievable. It combs through the matts and snarls, you can turn it so only one tooth is pulling through the really nasty spots and the dog just lays there and takes it. I really need to quit being so cheap!

> 3 dayI have several Chris Christensen grooming tools and everyone of them is superior quality making grooming my Havanese totally wonderful. While this too is expensive, it’s a great investment and worth every penny!

> 3 dayI bought a Chris Christensen Buttercomb 000 in 2018, on the recommendation of my groomer. I love that comb. Seriously, I hear angels sing as it glides through my double coated corgis and Aussie’s fur. Nothing better for painlessly removing loose and blowing undercoat. I love this comb so much, I bought myself a second one. Sigh. The new one has sharp corners on the ends of the comb spine (see photo of new and old comb). The pointed corners hurt my palm when I’m using it. Since I comb three dogs about 30 minutes each at least twice a week, this is a problem for me. I reached out to the manufacturer via email, (with this photo and explaining that they were the same part number with the same markings, both purchased from their authorized distributors). The reply I got was that their plating process has changed. It seems that a “grind the pointy bit off before plating” step was somehow removed from their process. And yeah, for $30 I don’t think my dog comb should dig into my palm. So now, I have to buy a snap on handle and increase my $30 investment by another $20 if I want to be able to use this comb without discomfort. I’m disappointed by this change, to say the least. If you happen upon these combs at a dog show or event, see if you can find yourself an older style. If you get stuck with one of these, go ahead and buy their $20 handle.

> 3 dayI thought this was ridiculously overpriced for a dog comb but my younger Bichon Frise kept getting mats in his fur. He still has mostly puppy coat and its fine and even with nightly brushing, he was getting matted around the ears and face. I keep them cut fairly short too. At last grooming, it was so bad, he had to have his ears shaved!!! :( I was desperate for help and read about this on a message board. It is a life saver. It doesnt seem to hurt, I am no longer ripping out mats, and it gives them that freshly groomed cotton ball look! I saw some of the handlers using combs like these at the Westminster show on the Bichons there. So I would buy it again. Money well spent!

> 3 dayIf youre adopting a poodle for the first time, just buy this comb instead of trying other cheap products. You will end up purchasing sturdy comb like this to brush your curly fur friend. This is not expensive considering the stubborn clot or mats.
