This extruder was a breeze to install on my ender 5 plus, took about 15 minutes from start to finish. This thing is a night and day difference in quality compared to the cheap plastic stock one that come with the 5 plus, do yourself a favor and do this upgrade you won’t regret it

I bought this to replace the feeder that came on a super cheap 3D printer. It seems a little more difficult to assemble than one I have from a different supplier on my other printer. Once assembled, though, It is a well designed feeder and I recommend it to anyone wanting to update. The main advantage is that you can manually retract filament, as when you change colors, without spinning the stepper motor, which I have been told is to be avoided.

So, I saw the writing on the wall for my old plastic extruder; no cracks in the body of it, but the odd tube holder attachments just snapped the other day (I tended to place my thumb on them when changing filament). I did a little research, since I knew I had an Ender 3 Pro with a pressed in hobbed bolt on my extruder motor (from what Ive seen, this only accounts for a couple years of production for the model, so check for yourselves if you have them). And since I really didnt want to replace my stepper motor, I thought this upgrade should work with what I had, better than most other non OEM setups. I was correct with my assumption. Assembly wasnt bad, took me about 20 minutes following the exploded diagram sent with the package. I really cant say its printing that much better than the stock item, but I can see a difference in ease of loading filament for sure. With all that said, I thought it was a great inexpensive add-on to my printer. I got the added capricorn tubing and springs as spares, since I already had them on my setup. (worthwhile backup items)

Very new to 3D printing and this came in a bundle with the printer. After doing a bunch of research, found that this is exactly the first upgrade one should do to make their 3D printer last longer and give consistent prints. So far so good. Considering getting another Ender 5 Plus.

The assumption that this will have any impact on improving your print quality is hilarious.. I got it mainly because it was only a few dollars more than just ordering the bowden tube & fasteners by them selves. They used a screen, as the method of securing the spring in place. Instead of just making 1 extra cut on the casting or cutting (however they make this thing) they could have added a little nub to keep the spring in place. The spring they provide is a bit long, which if you are OCD about things being aligned, then tightening the spring down so the thumb press aligns with the housing, will put to much tension causing the extruder stepper motor to have to work harder to push the filament through. The filament is pushed so hard against the extruder tip (with the teeth on it) that you can see the groves of the barring in the filament. This kept causing some of the softer filaments to be cut when going through the extruder. I ended up putting the original Ender 3 pieces back onto the machine. Again, this does not server any purpose other than looking pretty and does NOT improve print quality.

I bought this for the Ender 3 V2. The tension springs ruined my bed and ultimately warped it. I didnt have issues with the bowden tube, but never really had an issue there. I really got this for the Metal Extruder. I had an issue with the extruder skipping. Notorious issue on the Ender series. This did not work for me at all. I even used an Extruder Cup Extended CHEP recommended trying. It gouged my filament, I was never able to cold pull or retract any warmed-up filament. I had to constantly remove the bowden tube to re-feed the filament.

Instructions that come with it are in chinese, but the quality of the parts and everything were fantastic. Took about 15 minutes to install, and in all honesty saved me so many headaches I originally had with feeding new filament as well as measured right at the proper level of feeding without even doing a differential. I should add I used this on a CR6-SE, definitely could be a headache for other ones, but came with all the proper screws etc.

Easy to install and definitely an upgrade over the factory springs and bowden tube.
