30-03-2025The timers were easy to hookup and performed great. The wifi always seemed to hookup well and they survived several rain storms with no issues. Definitely recommend these.

> 3 dayFor starters, it did not power up at all to even attempt a setup. Though the USB port was working, it never went into setup mode or even allow a full reset via the center button. I dont get it. ***Updated*** I continued fidgeting with it to see why it was not showing any life when it was plugged in. I then thought about testing to see if the two power outlets worked like the USB port did, and wouldt you know, when I plugged in an AC cord to a simple light bulb, it magically woke up and went into setup mode. It was at that time that the instructions were correct in how fast it took to setup. I have no idea why it literally played dead until I checked to see if it actually had any AC running through it like any other power strip. One thing to do, which is talked about at the (very end) of the instruction sheet is that if you intend to voice control this thing, you have to also introduce it as a new device on your Alexa App, or whatever AI you have in place for it to function as a hands free device on your network. If you dont have an AI turning stuff on and off for you via voice command, then the recommended phone app you have to use to install it to your network is an awesome remote control for it. Happy that its not defective, and that I avoided the hassle of a return, but if it were not for my stubbornness at trouble shooting, it would have gone back with the original one star review I gave it for being a DOA unit, to put it precicely.

> 3 day*Update: After using the plug last year, I unplugged it and stored it in the basement with all of the Christmas lights. When I went to reinstall it this year. Same outdoor receptacle and everything, I could not get it to link with Alexa. Same router, same passwords, nothing changes. I am sure if I reset everything and took the time, I could probably get everything communicating again. But I assumed once it was done I could just plug/unplug without worrying about it. So now instead of Alexa taking care of it, I needed to use the MyDlink app to set a schedule. This was a bit tedious as you need to do everyday, and its military time. Since reinstalling after less than a week I have had to unplug it to reset it as it has lost connection. Even the buttons on the unit itself were unresponsive. I am unsure what the case is, but I am losing confidence in this product that was great 1 year prior. *** After a week this has worked great for our outside Christmas lights. Set up was a breeze as well as integrating with Alexa. I am a huge fan of each outlet having its own cover. You are able to name each outlet so that they can be turned on individually.

> 3 dayIve been into home automation since the X10 days. In the last house that I go going, I set it all up with Zwave. The only real downside of Zwave (IMO), is range. Yes, Zwave+ and the fact that its a mesh network help mitigate that somewhat. However, I started working on another house. Without many devices, Zwave doesnt work nearly as well. So, when it was time to automate some outdoor lights, I decided to go with the D-Link Wi-Fi Smart Outdoor Plug with 2 Outlets and 1 USB Port (DSP-W320-US Black). Ive used D-Link networking equipment for almost two decades, so Im pretty confident in using anything with their name on it. The DSP-W320-US is a solidly built unit with an IP54 rating. I think its appropriate to have in a semi-sheltered area, and I have mine in a screened porch. The dust caps are pretty decent, and dont feel like theyll break off before their time. Setup is super easy. I downloaded the D-Link app from the Google Play store, and have included a couple screenshots of the process. You have to create a D-Link account, but everything is straightforward after that. Basic functionality in the app is easy to use. Setting schedules in the app isnt super intuitive, but thats not really how I used this, anyway. You can OAuth your D-Link account straight to your Alexa account, but thats not what I elected to do. Instead, I linked my D-Link account to IFTTT, so I could use it from my HomeSeer (without having to get a plugin). Im sure either works just fine. In terms of the device, I havent had any issues. I wasnt sure how good the 2.4Ghz reception would be, with a tiny integrated antenna, but its actually quite good. Thats kind of remarkable, though, since youre talking about a SoC, a radio, and some relays. Its not unusual to have to at least cycle the power every once in a while. The D-Link hasnt required any of that in weeks of operation. Outstanding! There are plenty of no-name devices on the market that will do what the D-Link does, but the Alexa and IFTTT integration adds a ton of value for me. Highly recommended.

> 3 dayI was so disappointed to get this and see I have to download another app when there is a very universal and productive app across vendors that uses an open way to access your plugins, Smart Life. Needless to say, I will be returning this product. If you want 40 different apps to control your home automation and dont care, it is probably a good product. For me, this product is useless and cumbersome to manage.

> 3 dayWe use this to control an outdoor Christmas tree each year and it works very well. It was easy to install and program and we have not had any trouble with it.
