This works great for output. 5 stars for that. But Ive tested it with a couple of different headsets and the mike wont work on any of them when using this adapter. So 1 star for that. It MIGHT be my PC, I guess, so please read other comments/reviews as well.

Works as it should be, once a month i need to go to the office and this thing works good if i need to make a call via zoom.

Fits great unto usb port. Great alternative to the headphone jack.

Unfortunately what nearly no one seems to know is that there are 2 different standards for headset jacks, and the mic input is in a different place on the jack on each of them, which means while the headphone part may work, the mic will not. Plugging my phone headset into my computers headset jack only gave me the desktop audio through the mic, not my voice, so the PC jack was not compatible with my headset. I purchased this hoping it would allow me to use my headset (that works fine with my laptop) with my PC. Short story: it didnt work, so if this is what youre trying to do also, look for something else. If only anyone would label which standard they were using (and that its even a thing that there are different ones) Id have skipped this product. The low rating isnt just for the product not working for me. If I had a different headset it might have functioned. The other problems I encountered were: Poor audio quality. I lost most of the bass of the audio vs plugging the 3.5mm jack directly into the computer. This resolved some after the computer finished setting up the drivers, but when that happened there was a sharp electrical pop in my ears, so maybe dont have your earbuds in until its done with that part. Some of this was due to a poor connection. When I held the connection between this adapter and my headset it was easy to disrupt. Simply squeezing my hand around it or rotating the jack input changed the quality from fine to terrible and back, complete with staticky crackles. After the drivers were in place and with the connection held just right, the audio in the earbuds was fine. It was fairly obvious it was a digital conversion after having just been using the headphones with the 3.5mm jack, but it was adequate. However if it had worked with my headset mic and I was trying to actually use this adapter regularly, Im sure I would have had to secure the connection with electrical tape or something else to ensure it never moved once I got it in the sweet spot.

If youre using this its likely for a scenario where you dont need the most perfect audio quality. Good, now that weve level set expectations, it does what it needs to do. I plugged it into my Windows 11 laptop dock, other end into the headphones, and it auto-detected and worked. I noticed a hiss and after testing, it was present within a few different audio cables but was always most pronounced when using this adapter. Thats fine because the hiss subsided when audio started to play, even if the audio itself was muted. Not sure why that happened, but it did. 5 stars because it does what it says it would and didnt try to grow legs and run away.

I have an older laptop and one of the screws in the under body loosened and fell off unbeknownst to me and rendered the headphone input useless as it shifted and input blocked. Anyway...looking for an adapter I found this one and with it positive reviews purchased it. Nothing complicated, plug it, and it works. Worked like a charm and audio was not diminished just as if I had plugged it in the headphone jack. Grant it I had it for two days so I cant comment on its durability but if from the beginning I am happy and cant complain.

First, the adapter came on time and fits great; however theyre is a buzzing sound that is coming through the speakers that wasnt before using the adapter. Any thoughts?...
