Does what it says. I went outside and it does look like a TV is on in the house (through closed curtains). Make sure you dont have other lights on in the house that will wash out the Fake TV light and that your shades or curtains are thin enough to let the light effect show through.

My neighbor was really worried someone had broken in to watch tv or use the computer. Enough said--works GREAT! About 5 years in, after only using this for periodic vacation absences, it did not work when I plugged it in. I emailed the company and heard back IMMEDIATELY. They sent me a replacement AC adapter which solved the issue and it functions perfectly again. (That said, my dad uses his daily and it has worked for 5 years straight. ) They wanted me to let them know if it solved the issue and would make it right no matter what. Do not worry about buying from this company. It is rare to have this level of support and they come through.

Excellent I bought two and shared one with a friend. The brightness is great and looks like a real tv is on.

For the price, this is a very clever gizmo that gives the impression that a TV is on inside of your home when you are away. You can set it to run for 4 or 7 hours, or for a continuous run. It comes on when the house gets dark, and flashes at various intervals as if a color TV was running. Place it facing towards a closed window shade or closed curtains (experiment a little to get the desired distance). No complicated instructions...just plug it in, set it, and go. I will use it along with various light-timers to confuse anyone who is trying to scope out the house.

We have one in two houses. I just purchased 2 more for more rooms. We even keep them on in another room when in the house. This is so realistic a neighbor was concerned that someone might be in the house watching tv while we were away. There are a few settings. We choose dusk plus 7 hours or dusk plus 4 hours. Its great!

This is a fantastic tool in the battle to scare off house burglers. its not the only tool one needs but it is a great idea and invention.
