FakeTV FTV-11 Extra Bright Burglar Deterrent Television Simulator

This is a very clever device. I have been using it when away, set up with a timer. I am glad someone invented this.

It works great, just as advertised. No problems and it is simple to use.

FakeTV FTV-10 works better, brigther and cheaper than this model FTV-11. I would buy FTV-10 and save $10 instead. It is very tiny unit unlike it looks on the picture.

It took some effort to find the right location and position for this light to be seen from outside, but it does work and it does look like a TV is on inside the home. Darker curtains on windows make this more challenging.

We absolutely love this! What a great idea. I use it each night, even when we are home, so that it runs for a couple of hours after we go to bed. I typically use the 4 hour cycle but will set it to 7 hours once the dark of winter arrives. On the 4 hour cycle, I wonder how it stays off when it turns off at night. Seems like it would turn back on because it senses the dark, but it is off in the morning when we get up. Havent stayed up all night to check this out! :-)

We have the gen before this one, and it is pretty dim. This one is super bright so easy to see from outside, even behind blinds and drapes. Definitely recommend.

Works as advertised. Wish the price were a little lower to match the technology but overall I would recommend. If it were $19 Id buy them for all my friends and relatives.

Love this Fake TV. Its very bright and with a little adjustment you can get a very realistic effect. Fooled my neighbors into thinking i was home all week , while i was in fact away on business. An effective deterrant to the casual burglar.

This sounded like an ideal product. The advertising said on at Dusk and off in daylight. Well almost. By Dust they mean Totally Dark, (not my idea of dusk). And there cannot be any lamps on inside the room or it will mot turn on. When we watch TV there is always a low light source in the same room as recommended for all TV watching. It does have a switch for OFF - Dusk + 4 hours - Dusk + 7 hours and ON. In order to maintain our normal look we need to use it on a timer and have FakeTV in the on position. This way the timer determines when it is on or off and we can still have a lamp on in the room. Maybe the next generation will be better.

Simple device that helps creates the illusion that someones home and awake. I think its worth using to decrease the chance your house will be targeted by a burglar.
