I bought this as a step up from a lower end model of Audio Technica turntable.

I didnt expect the acrylic platter to be so heavy. The whole unit is built great but it sounds even better. Im having trouble with the anti-skate but I hope to get it figured out.

I bought this turntable as my third turntable ever owned. I was given a Audiotechnica lp60x a few years back for a Christmas present. Since then I have purchased a Pro-ject Debut Carbon Evo that is a great player. I bought this one recently as well, due to the great reviews I have seen on Amazon and by reviewers online. When I first set this up, I thought it sounded great. Not quite as detailed as the Pro-ject Evo, but it sounded good, and had a large presence. I listened to it for probably 10 hours total when all of a sudden, new record that just played flawlessly on the Pro-ject Evo, the arm skatted clear across the record from the second song all the way to the middle of the label. I was shocked and horrified that it probably damaged my record. I checked the settings, and the anti-skate was set to correct settings. I had my wife check and she said it appeared to be set correctly. I then unhooked it and began the return process for my money back. I might have gotten a lemon, but I will not chance it again. Im done with Fluance for good. It is a shame because I really did enjoy the sound until the incident occurred, but I will stick with my Pro-ject Evo for now and not subject my records to getting scratched up by a defective device.

Great value for money. I expected good quality but even those expectations were exceeded

Very happy with this turntable. Matched with a Marantz 2270 receiver it sounds great.

Not a starter turntable, and setting the tone arm is stressful if you have high value vinyl and wish to preserve it. Any kitchen gram scale can help setting the weight, which was my choice rather than buying a scale designed for such purposes. Once set up, the platter and the stylus are incredible in concert with a simple and consistent motor and plinth combination. Best value for less than a grand by my estimation. If you can swing it, buy this table. Now then, once the trigger has been pulled here, youll need a preamp...

I’ve owned the Fluance RT82 for a couple of years now and I really liked it but it never blew me away. But we all want that, right? Is it so much to ask to playback these albums we love the way we know they can be heard? No. We deserve it and so do the artists. This turntable accomplishes that. I started with some songs off of The Cure’s “Mixed Up”, then I played some Doja Cat, Ratt, Toro Y Moi’s “Boo Boo”, and ended the night with the Blade Runner soundtrack by Vangelis. This was the icing. I love this soundtrack and I always hoped I’d hear it the way the movie made me feel about it and somehow the RT85 makes it sound even better. It brought out elements I never knew existed in all of the songs I played and reveals the deep and beautiful nuance. I know this is partly due to the wonderful Ortofon 2M Blue cart but just how much? I don’t think you can slap a nice cart onto a subpar turntable and have it sound like this.

So I spent a week trying to get my old technics sl 23a to play 33s to no avail. Then spent the rest of lockdown researching ,reading reviews on here and YouTube (thank you Vinyl TV). After all that, and what with it being my 50th and being made redundant, like alot of folks, went the whole 9 yards and got this beauty. It is the absolute business, looks amazing, sounds better than it looks and easy to follow instructions make it breeze to set up. Had it a fortnight now and its only going to sound better when it beds in. Cant find any problems with it yet, so I can highly recommend this beast. Buy it,enjoy it,love it, you wont be disappointed.
