Purchased as a gift for a family member; assembly was simple and straightforward with no issues, only time will tell for longterm reliability. As for the sound, I could hear no rumble or motor noise, speed accuracy was exact at both 331/3 and 45rpms. The removable headshell would make it easy to swap out phono cartridges if so desired. Many positive reviews for this model in and outside of the Amazon jungle...

Im not a hi fi expert by any means, but this RT85 sounds great. Powered by a Yamaha and JBL bookshelf speakers. I was concerned about sitting it up, it was a 10 minute easy job. I got the bamboo and am happy with my choice not a big problem with dust and finger prints. Didnt know what I was not hearing on my old cd s. Dark side of the moon has new life. Oh this is my first tt in almost 40 years. I made a good purchase. Found my old records from Army days lots to listen to again.

If you are a person who likes to upgrade then save your money and buy the this RT-85.

I’ve had the Fluance RT85 now for a week, I went for the piano black one. I wanted something to upgrade and replace my very old (1981) Technics SLB-210 that works fine and sounds OK. I liked the look of the specs for the Fluance RT85, the simplicity and raw features seem to offer a lot for the money when compared to many others that seemed to come with all the snake oil I didn’t want! But it wasn’t available in the UK so I was looking at a few options including the, Sony PSHX 500, the Project Classics and Debut Carbon, and the Technics SL1500B. I’d decided that if the RT85 became available I’d go for that, otherwise I’d step up to the Technics SL1500B in April but consider upgrading the stylus to the Ortofon 2M Blue (as on the RT85).

Im an old guy. Ive been buying and listening to LPs since the 60s. Ive bought and sold more stereo setups than I can recall, in flush $ times and lean. This is by a long ways the best turntable Ive ever owned. It has a great feel in use, and the heavy acrylic platter eliminates static electricity. The open, spacious top end of the sound of the turntable, combined with the Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge, and my Bowers & Wilkins speakers, is breathtaking. Its like a ceiling was removed. My current vinyl collection is all new again.

It all started when I received my package. The box was damaged. The dust cover has a scratch (a kind of slice off) on the back edge and the area where the rotor goes is also scratched. Looks used and I bought a new turntable. I was taking advantage of my vacation here in USA to pickup my turntable, but I will return in few days to my country without my turntable…I returned it. Disappointed!!

This turntable sounds great mostly due I think to the Ortofon Blue cartridge and very low amount of noise transmitted from the platter to the tone arm. The build quality is excellent and it looks great. Clear instructions for the setup. The auto stop takes awhile at the end of the a record, about 19 revolutions. The auto stop works with most of my records, but it does not work with the older records where the tonearm moves back and forth horizontally a half an inch or so at the end of the record. I think that back and forth movement was designed to trigger an automatic record changer. Small detail, it is after all a manual turntable. Very good value for your money and I highly recommend it.

This turntable is perfect! Beautiful. Place it on an isolation platform, gave it some lighting, and wha laaa! This RT85 makes the LPs sound crisp and clear.
