Freud 40-114: 1-5/8 (Dia.) Chamfer Bit

hard to find bit for an aging machine in our shop - worked like a charm!

I bought this bit to profile the tops of a half dozen cherry nightstands. The bit arrived quickly and performed well. I have quite a few Freud bits and havent had an issue with any of them.

Worked great for putting a chamfer on both sides of my 1 x 1-1/2 trim to match my ceiling angle. I would recommend Freud bits for any application. they are awesome!

Just so you know, when buying this bit, the cut can be made larger than the typical chamfer bit, BUT that also means that you have a larger diameter to spin. Dont forget that router hole for your router table (or router) needs to be larger as well. Shaves like a barber though.

Purpleheart, Walnut, Mesquite, Cedar this bit doesnt care what it runs through. Will buy Freud again!

I needed to add chamfers to cutting boards. Some boards I make are edge grain and some are end grain. This has had no issues making perfect chamfers without any tear out in maple, walnut, purple heart, padauk, and other woods. Ive run about 10 boards through it so far and hope for many more.

My standard router brand. Never disappointed.

When used properly at the correct speed and depth of cut it created a butter smooth edge on my Padauk desk top with no burning, chatter, or chipping.

I bought this to use in making staves for boxes but I have used it for chamfering edges of projects. It is a heavy duty router bit. Made real strong and very large bit. Works flawlessly.

Works like it should.
