This watch is incredible. The soft flexible band is comfortable (I cant wear metal bands anymore as they interfere with typing and mouse). Its big enough (I tried the 7X and its nice but its too heavy for me even though it fits better). I wish this one had the LED light but thats about all I miss from the 7X. The battery lasts over a week and i use it for hiking, cardio, breathwork, and much more. There are so many cool faces you can download and the way the hiking topo maps keep track of your hike is cool. I love the stress numbers, the sleep numbers, and just all the data in general. If you are a data nerd and love data, you will love this watch. There are just so many pros and very few if any cons. The only thing I dont love is the proprietary charging cable and I have to take it off to charge a couple of times a month. The solar is cool but even with a few hours of exposure daily, it wont charge it all the way. It will give you a few percent a day, so even if you were camping or away from power for a week, you still wont need to charge it. There are so many settings that you can make the watch unique. I might consider the Epic over this if you like more colors. Fenix 7 series is 64 colors and the Epic is 64,000 plus the Epic display is the bomb but no Solar is available. If youre an active person or just a golfer (lol) you will love this watch. I cant recommend this enough.

Best watch Ive ever owned. I owned the garmin fenix 3 and the garmin 935. This watch blows them out of the water. No regrets.

The physical design is nice, the functions seems excellent, but navigating the device is extremely unintuitive. I cant return it, as I didnt realize the seller also shipped the product, not Amazon (my mistake, I usually wont buy from sellers like Instadeals). Since I cant return it, Ill have to read the manual, which is unusual for a smartphone-connected device in 2022. It has a touchscreen and 5 buttons (too many, it defeats the whole purpose of a touchscreen!). A big display and a touchscreen should mean you dont have all these unlabeled buttons. Also, most infuriating is the display brightness by default is very low, which makes the display UNREADABLE. And its not remotely obvious how to increase the brightness. Because the watch has a lot of functions, the app is not simple, either. it took a while to find settings (I buy way more gadgets and electronic products than anyone I know). If Garmin can develop the software to provide all of these functions, they should be able to create a more intuitive UI.

It is a little bit heavier than my last Garmin but I am getting used to it now.

The battery life was shorter than I had expected. It declines IF you use tracking and other features for hours, e.g., on a hike. It takes awhile to take advantage of all the features but Im getting there.

I have been an Apple Watch gal for as long as smartwatches have been a thing. However, I mountain bike and spend a lot of time outdoors, and wanted something a little more durable and with a better battery. I considered the Apple Watch Ultra however, it only came in one size and I was worried that size would be too large for me so I decided to try this Garmin (my boyfriend has always had Garmins and loves them). To skip all the mumbo jumbo, I ultimately returned this watch and did end up getting the Apple Watch Ultra, and Ill give some pros and cons to tell you why! Pros: - Battery life: this thing really does last forever. The Apple Ultra is solid but I do charge it every 3-4 days. The Garmin lasted a week+ - Activity Tracking: I feel like the activity tracking was a tad more accurate than the Apple Watch, although the Ultra does have GPS so this could just be in my head, but my boyfriend and I come out with different stats after bike rides (slightly different mileage, slightly different elevation, etc.) If youre looking for something with precise tracking, since this was Garmins forte, I would probably lean that route. - Sleep Tracking: Because the sleep tracking is built into the Garmin I feel like I liked it better. The Ultra doesnt have a built-in sleep track app so I had to download one on my phone and I have to set it every night. Cons: - Creature Comforts: I would say this was my biggest qualm with the Garmin. I am so used to the creature comforts of the Apple Watch I had a really hard time with the Garmin. Things like: - If your phone is unlocked and open when a new notification comes through, your Apple Watch wont notify you. The Garmin would. - If you arent looking at your Apple watch, the screen wont light up. The Garmin would (in the age of Zoom meetings, notifications would pop up with my head resting on my hand more often than I wouldve liked with the Garmin lol) **Also with the Apple Watch you can choose which apps send notifications to your watch. You dont have this option with the Garmin so if you dont want certain notifications going to your watch, you have to turn them off on your phone too. - UI: The Apple Watch and Watch App are so much more user-friendly in terms of the interface. The Garmin is very bare bones, with not a ton of customization options for the face, etc. The Garmin app is kind of a pain in the rear to navigate and I just feel like Apple has done a stellar job making their apps and products very user-friendly, I missed that when I had the Garmin. - My Apple watch has a Strava app so I can track my rides on my watch without even having my phone with me. There was a Strava app for the Garmin I believe, but you still had to start the ride from the phone. - Music, phone, etc.: You can answer calls on the Apple watch and control music, cant do these things with the Garmin. - Band Options: Apple and Amazon just have more options for Apple watch bands. If youre someone like me who likes to swap out the bands pretty often and like really neat-looking ones, sorry to say, there are way less options for the Garmin. (P.S. Amazon has some phenomenal dupes for the very expensive Apple Watch bands) Comparable Features: - Durability: Both watches are very durable. Ive definitely taken some diggers with the Apple Watch and dont even have a scratch to show for it. **I am a 27-year-old female. I have smaller wrists and the Apple Watch Ultra fits fine. Dare I say the big screen is even kind of nice?? The Garmin also fit very nicely. If you want something a little smaller and thats a thing you definitely DONT want to compromise, go with the Garmin.
