> 3 dayThe battery life was shorter than I had expected. It declines IF you use tracking and other features for hours, e.g., on a hike. It takes awhile to take advantage of all the features but Im getting there.

> 3 dayFirst The battery life is amazing. I usually stick it on the charger just while I’m getting a shower in the morning. The battery life has never dropped below 8 days and that is after intensive use tracking a hike. I do a 6 mile bike ride every day and that has little effect on the battery. The screen is awesome and easy to read. Bright sunlight makes it even better. The only thing I wish it would do is measure VO2 max while riding my bike without having to buy a $500 add on. Still, I had an Apple Watch for years and this Watch beats it in every category.

Greater than one weekI ended up returning this after seeing what the screen looks like in real life. Almost like a retro game or some kind of graphing calculator, very poor quality “graphics” and it really ruins the watch. Feature wise, it’s incredible.

> 3 dayBattery life is great, tracking is excellent, and Im really impressed by everything it does and how well. Also a huge fan of the transflective screen vs AMOLED. Indoors, it looks like a normal watch and not my phone. In bed, I can check it without being blinded. Outside, its stunning. However, if you use a streaming music service and want to play it on your watch, it needs a fix. In theory it can play the music fine, but it cannot play a specific song that you want. Instead, it can only do a playlist from start to finish, or do a playlist randomly on shuffle. So you basically select a playlist and hope you get the songs you most want to hear. Fix that, and its 5/5.

> 3 dayAccuracy and motoring is good. But battery life not that good (compared to Huawei watches). Watch face luminous / lighting too very low unless under the sun (not inside house)

> 3 dayOk, $1k is a lot for a watch that basically looks like an old ironman. This thing is a beast but before i start there is one reason you will want this watch over your apple ultra or sang-sung whatever. Battery life. insane. If you hate charging your electronics nightly or wonder more than once a week, will my watch last.. or carry chargers.. Stop now, pawn your other piece of junk and get this. Legit multi-week as a smart watch battery life. Legit. Even on its MOST power consuming gps micro tracking it out lasts my apple watch. You can read everyone elses reviews. But as a smart watch or end of the world watch, its the best i have ever seen. yes, its a tank, it feels like a piece of armor when worn. And yes, for the F-of loving jesus or your prophet of choice, the flashlight... I use it daily. Daily. Thought like most, gag, silly. Negatory. Just used it moments ago which triggered me to stop and write this. If you want a real solid piece of kit that will last and be there to use. Stop, break into the savings... get a second mortgage or line of credit and just do it! Great watch, best watch i have had ever.

> 3 dayI have been waiting for this watch for a long time and was happy when it went on sale. Before that, I used the Phoenix 5X for 4 years and was in love with this watch, but the 7X version attracted new features and a touch screen. I finally bought them and was very happy. But soon after the purchase, I discovered a feature that upset me insanely - I have tattoos on my sleeves and you know what? The sensors doent read the heart rate through the black tattoo on my wrists! I didnt understand what was going on, I thought I got damaged product until I found the source of the problem. I do workouts and my activity indicators are very important to me. And now how do I know how many calories I burned during the day if all my data is incorrect?! I set the Strength Training mode during the gym session and the watch does not count the calories I spent! My entire training process is flushed down the toilet because Garmin has updated the optical sensor on the watch. I checked the watches on the hands of my friends who doent have tattoos and they work for them. I read on the Internet and found out that this problem exists in people with dark skin. A large amount of melanin is now a problem! I repeat, everything worked perfectly on the Phoenix 5X. Dont you think it smells like racism? How do I wear this watch now? Do I need to cut out the skin on my wrist for the watch to work on me?

> 3 dayI have been an Apple Watch gal for as long as smartwatches have been a thing. However, I mountain bike and spend a lot of time outdoors, and wanted something a little more durable and with a better battery. I considered the Apple Watch Ultra however, it only came in one size and I was worried that size would be too large for me so I decided to try this Garmin (my boyfriend has always had Garmins and loves them). To skip all the mumbo jumbo, I ultimately returned this watch and did end up getting the Apple Watch Ultra, and Ill give some pros and cons to tell you why! Pros: - Battery life: this thing really does last forever. The Apple Ultra is solid but I do charge it every 3-4 days. The Garmin lasted a week+ - Activity Tracking: I feel like the activity tracking was a tad more accurate than the Apple Watch, although the Ultra does have GPS so this could just be in my head, but my boyfriend and I come out with different stats after bike rides (slightly different mileage, slightly different elevation, etc.) If youre looking for something with precise tracking, since this was Garmins forte, I would probably lean that route. - Sleep Tracking: Because the sleep tracking is built into the Garmin I feel like I liked it better. The Ultra doesnt have a built-in sleep track app so I had to download one on my phone and I have to set it every night. Cons: - Creature Comforts: I would say this was my biggest qualm with the Garmin. I am so used to the creature comforts of the Apple Watch I had a really hard time with the Garmin. Things like: - If your phone is unlocked and open when a new notification comes through, your Apple Watch wont notify you. The Garmin would. - If you arent looking at your Apple watch, the screen wont light up. The Garmin would (in the age of Zoom meetings, notifications would pop up with my head resting on my hand more often than I wouldve liked with the Garmin lol) **Also with the Apple Watch you can choose which apps send notifications to your watch. You dont have this option with the Garmin so if you dont want certain notifications going to your watch, you have to turn them off on your phone too. - UI: The Apple Watch and Watch App are so much more user-friendly in terms of the interface. The Garmin is very bare bones, with not a ton of customization options for the face, etc. The Garmin app is kind of a pain in the rear to navigate and I just feel like Apple has done a stellar job making their apps and products very user-friendly, I missed that when I had the Garmin. - My Apple watch has a Strava app so I can track my rides on my watch without even having my phone with me. There was a Strava app for the Garmin I believe, but you still had to start the ride from the phone. - Music, phone, etc.: You can answer calls on the Apple watch and control music, cant do these things with the Garmin. - Band Options: Apple and Amazon just have more options for Apple watch bands. If youre someone like me who likes to swap out the bands pretty often and like really neat-looking ones, sorry to say, there are way less options for the Garmin. (P.S. Amazon has some phenomenal dupes for the very expensive Apple Watch bands) Comparable Features: - Durability: Both watches are very durable. Ive definitely taken some diggers with the Apple Watch and dont even have a scratch to show for it. **I am a 27-year-old female. I have smaller wrists and the Apple Watch Ultra fits fine. Dare I say the big screen is even kind of nice?? The Garmin also fit very nicely. If you want something a little smaller and thats a thing you definitely DONT want to compromise, go with the Garmin.
