I really like DE and I use it multiple places. I mix it into my chicken feed to prevent and kills worms in my chickens. I sprinkle it in the garden both at ground level as well as on the leaves and veggies. I also use it on my fruit trees. It really works on the insects we get here at my farm. I love that this one comes with a device to squirt/spray/distribute the powder on these various places. Its a little messy to fill but it helps to powder a chicken tail that has nits (as she runs away from you!)

This stuff is great for creepy crawling critters in my basement and great for flea infestations too. Make sure to buy the FOOD GRADE diatomacious earth. I havent used it yet for anything in the eating or digesting arena yet, but i will check that purpose out soon. Amazing how many things to use it for and safe for pets as long as you remove them from the area until the powder dust settles. Make sure you put on goggles and mask during application to protect your lungs and eyes too! Great stuff but a little tricky to use the powder duster canister tool that is included. Nevertheless, the results are excellent.... I applied mine indoors for flea infest and i did my application as follows and i am not saying my way is best but it worked for me. STEP#1 is to vac up the entire house or area you want to treat and also include bedding/furniture. WHEN DONE WITH VAC THROW CONTENTS OF VAC INTO A SEPARATE BAG AND TIE OFF AND IMMEDIATELY TOSS INTO OUTDOOR TRASH SEVERAL FEET AWAY FROM YOUR HOUSE....STEP#2 machine wash on HOT any towels or clothing laying around. STEP#3..put pets and other humans in a different room and dont put fan or ac/heat on during application. Once powder dust settles then turn back on. Use included powder duster tool (to create a thick fog like cloud plume consistancy with powder( vs. just shaking the powder onto the floor or carpet.) continue to disperse powder to areas begin top to bottom as you walk backwards out of each room. The duster tool lets fog get inbetween and under places the vac just cant reach. Step#4...Leave powder for 2weeks and vac up areas you can reach and repeat application....fleas lay eggs every 14 days and get your animals on a med that kills adult fleas, eggs, pupae, and larvae. Any area that That you treat with the diatomacious powder must stay dry. If it gets wet it will not kill fleas or other insects. Make sure to use mask and eye protect during application until it settles. GOOD LUCK IT WORKED FOR ME!

I was at the end of the rope on what to do about our flea infestation. My cat is an indoor/outdoor cat is constantly coming into contact with neighboring cats - that coupled with the unusual heat weve had this summer - seems to have exacerbated our flea problem. Ive used the awful and toxic flea bombs - on several occasions, have used the expensive flea sprays, used a variety of medication on my cat, and have given my cat several baths - which if you knew my cat - you would know how dangerous that in itself is - because he hates water. After extensive research I came across this product, and what first grabbed my attention was the fact that the food grade is not toxic to humans or pets. I have a child in my home and was fearful of introducing anymore chemicals into the home; I also was fearful of putting more toxic chemicals on my cat. I treated my entire home with this stuff, along with my yard and the exterior of my home (window sills, entry ways). Now.....this stuff is really - really messy. I wasnt sure that I could handle white powder being everywhere but I was desperate to see if this product was effective at killing fleas - as it claimed to be. I sprinkled this product in the interior of my entire home, and didnt touch the product at all and let it sit overnight. (Around 17 hours) When I got up the next morning, I put a pair of white socks on so that I could see whether or not any fleas jumped on me. At first I was horrified as I literally had hundreds of fleas on my socks. I was discouraged as I first thought that this product was ineffective - not realizing the fleas were actually scrambling to stay alive. Prior to using this product - I had never seen that many fleas in my home. Seeing that many fleas made me realize just how effectice the product was as it drew the fleas out of the carpet as they were trying to get away from the product. I vacuumed up the product - vacuuming my entire home - and didnt see anymore fleas. Later that evening I vacuumed again - even the hardwood floors - and have only seen a total of two fleas. I understand that I need to vacuum - vacuum - vacuum. I still havent let my cat back inside as I have to treat him again. At present I mix this product with his cat food to help treat him from the inside - I also rubbed some of this product into his coat. This product has been extremely effective - Im embarrassed to admit that I dont usually write reviews - especially not this long. But because of how impressed I am with this product and how effective it really is, I wanted to share this information in the event it helps someone else.

Bought this in the past. Love it to death. You will see dead bugs all over, noticeably works. My only issue, the applicator is cracked so the nozzle doesnt shot it out right. I specifically bought this one for the applicator bottle so I can stop throwing clumps by hands and manually spending it. Plus its supposed to help get in tight places.

To be honest I am not all together sure what its actual use is, I just know I read it could get rid of fleas. It does do that temporarily. Should you be using it for that DO NOT use the spryer that comes with it. I did and it got everywhere, I literally had to clean it off of everything in my room. The better albeit harder way to do it is to find something to put it in and sprinkle it. When my sister used it she used a mason jar and poked holes on the lid. If you have a tiny flea problem this will solve it for a month or so, if you have a big flea problem you’re looking at it lasting a week at best. Again, I don’t know what it’s actually used for, so this review is based on what I used it for.

I live in an old apartment that has a roach problem which has caused so much stress and anxiety in my life. I struggled trying to control the problem any way that I could (different baits, the roach birth control, diy roach killer) but everything I did seemed to make the problem worse! My anxiety was so bad that I had to leave all my lights on to deter them from popping out :(. After all my failed methods, I finally bought this product and sprayed it all over my floor. It stopped them from coming out for a few days, which was a relief (even though I knew they were still there it was nice to be able to walk around without being scared). Eventually they started coming out again, probably to find some water, and had to cross through the powder which eventually killed them. I literally thought the roach problem couldn’t be controlled and I would have to live in fear in my apartment but luckily the problem has significantly improved! I have no doubt that this product will completely eliminate whatever bugs are left and I’ll finally be able to be comfortable in my apartment. I’d highly recommend this for bug control.

I had an infestation of YELLOW JACKETS that had almost completely defoliated several of my shrubs in the front of my Georgia home this spring. The included sprayer was easy to assemble and worked like a charm. I was concerned about an earlier review which was not happy with the sprayer. The sprayer has evidently been redesigned and it does the job. Covering the NESTS with the powder eliminated the pests. You must have patience....It took at least a week but the bugs are now gone I am happy and the shrubs have recovered and look great.

Its a very fine powder and itll make your place extra dusty, no matter how careful you are at applying it. But the dust is worth it, because in my situation this worked like a charm. Itll stun them in a sense, theyll begin to become afraid to move, itll chase them to safety, theyll seek out the safest spot to be while still being near a blood source, narrowing down their options and limiting the infestation to a small area. Spread it across thresholds, entry doors and closet doors. Put it on the carpet and let it sit for a day or two before vacuuming. Rinse and Repeat. Sprinkle it around furniture legs (leaving it there for months) and underneath cushions/mattresses. Spray puff it onto the sides of soft furnishings and into the various crevices on furniture pieces. I dont have pets, but if you do, be sure to address their bedding and sleeping areas as well.
