Bought 2 of these development boards to learn electronics while developing a simple weather sensor project. As a beginner, I would definitely recommend this board. After following the directions on the website to configure the IDE and referring to the pinout graphic mentioned on another review, I had no problems getting started. It works well with the Arduino IDE running on Ubuntu. Just take care to use a good USB cable since some of them (for example, some that are intended to charge cell phones) do not always have the same data connections required. I did have to contact the seller for assistance with one board, but they were able to resolve the problem without delay. Ive already started planning new projects!

Its a great board if all you want is a red LED. One of these boards didnt accept new firmware at all, and HiLetGo has been completely unresponsive to make it right. I saw others had success with their support, but theyve been terrible with me. The MakerFocus boards worked great and were packaged better. UPDATE The HiLetGo team did finally respond with a refund, I would simply be careful with these boards as quality control seems to be dicey.

I bought a set of these and I am able to program both of them tasmoto and only one of them connects to my local network. I can program the bad with with blink and other programs and works fine just no wireless connectivity. Update I as able to find info on fixing the second one and it works great, so giving 5 stars.

Get this version instead of the V3 which gave me some issues. Im up and running on these on my first try. Works with Arduino IDE.

Im using for home automation project. Easy to use and integrate, very good wireless signal as well. Also low power draw. Occasionally stop communicating, but easy to push reset button and youre back up and running.

From the reading Ive done, there seems to be a number of batches of these boards that exhibit the same behavior. It is apparently related to the crystal frequency on the board. The first sign is that writing to the serial monitor in the Arduino IDE produces garbage. If I connect at 115200, I can only read output if I set the serial monitor baud rate to 74880 which is the same ratio as 40:26 (is the crystal operating at 26MHz instead of 40 MHz?). In any case, as others have observed, most things work and you can even get output on the serial monitor as long as you set the baud rate at roughly 0.65 times what you actually connected at. However, there seems to be no way to make a wifi connection with these boards. If anyone knows a way to do so, Id love to hear it. I contacted the sellers through their web site. I couldnt find a way to do it from the Amazon site. I received no reply. Ive wasted days on this and will have to return them if I dont find an answer soon. Does anyone know how to purchase reliable boards? Ive run into this with two sellers now and dont want to keep doing this trial and error thing.
