> 24 hourThis is a pretty good product, easy to use, does what it needs to most of the time. The only exterior design flaw is that its not very stable, rounded edges and an off center support make it easy to knock over. falling over exacerbates the second issue. The battery connection is absolute crap. It jiggles loose constantly and youll suddenly find that its just dead despite having been plugged in all day. They could have found a dozen ways to secure the battery cable but they seem to prefer selling new ones. I had to shell out about $80 the week I bought the camera because there is no warranty on the battery and they did nothing to troubleshoot to problem. But, if you open up the back and press firmly on the plastic part of the battery connection with something hard it will go back to working until one of the next times you reach for it in the dark and it falls off your nightstand.

> 24 hourI love that this is a closed loop, non-hackable system. Picture quality is great! I have been able to add cameras on as our family grows. The real factor that takes infant optics to the next level is their customer service! After about 18 months, our signal was dropping a lot and after emailing customer service, Gladys R was all over it!! Provided lots of step by step troubleshooting and frequently checked in to see how these tips were/weren’t working. There was small improvement but not great. She jumped all over coordinating the return of my monitor and sending me a new one without question. I already was happy with the product but the customer service has made me a customer for life and I’ve recommended and bought for my friends numerous times!

> 24 hourHands down this is the best baby monitor on the market and the best company. I had my first camera and monitor for 2 years- it has survived my toddler throwing it across the room multiple times when I had it sitting on his crib (it is now where he cant reach it). I love the thermometer on it, I look at it constantly- It made me realize my sons room had a heating/cooling problem that we had the HVAC company come out to correct. I love the how much it can turn- I can literally see my toddler in his room anywhere in his room when he gets out of bed and zoom in as close on my baby to even see him breathing. I now have a second child and bought the add on camera. I love the scan mode that it goes back and forth between cameras every few seconds. My monitor charging port broke a few weeks before my second son was born and wouldnt charge anymore, even though I was a year out of warranty Infant Optics replaced it free of charge. I received the replacement in 2 days too! I dont think I could survive without this camera.

> 24 hourWe have used InfantOptics cameras for a few years now and love them. The second camera is easy to pair and we like only having one monitor screen. We have had a few issues with the battery life on the monitor and customer service was able to walk me though how to reset it and now it works perfectly again! We also had some nightvision fading with our first camera and customer service was able to replace that camera for free. They are incredibly helpful if there are any issues. These products have stood up well and are a great value! Theyre also easy to travel with if you need to- we pack our camera and monitor on vacation with us and theyre easy to set up in a new location as well.

> 24 hourI got this monitor because our other broke shortly before our second baby arrived. I was so happy with how much better quality the picture was than with our previous camera which was terrible! I also loved being able to have multiple cameras for the monitor. Everything was going perftly until late week the monitor stopped working. I was a little annoyed, naturally. But when I reached out to customer service they were quick to tak me through the process to get a replacement shipped out! They were amazing. I just received the replacement today and I’m so happy to have it back. I highly recommend this monitor. The quality is amazing and you can’t beat the customer service!

> 24 hourWorks great. We bought the original system 3 years ago for my son. Was a little worried this camera wouldnt connect but decided to try rather than buy a whole new system. Great news, it connected!

> 24 hourI love this camera/monitor for my kids. I just bought a second camera for my second baby. The quality is great and I love that I know the temperature in the room. It’s also nice that you can put the screen on sleep but still have sound. Pairing an extra camera is very easy and the monitor switches between the two cameras every few seconds if you put it on scan. Super helpful since it doesn’t do a split screen. The monitor beeps when it can’t connect to the camera and when it’s running low on battery. Our power went out in the middle of winter in the middle of the night and it woke me immediately beeping because it couldn’t connect to the camera. We were able to bring the baby to our room, start a fire and prep the generator while the house was still warm. It got down to 20 degrees that night. Thankful my baby didn’t get cold.

> 24 hourWe own a monitor and camera from Infant Optics. Both have worked perfect for over two years. We are very happy with the quality of the image, microphone function, speaker, battery life, and range of antenna signal. We decided to buy a second camera and had problems with it from the beginning. We contacted customer service and they quickly helped us troubleshoot the problem we were having. In the middle of trying to figure out what was going on with the camera, we had to move homes, the pandemic started, life got crazy and we lost track of the situation. After many months, we attempted to start using the camera again and the same problem we were having before continued, rendering the camera useless. We contacted Infant Optics, and they quickly picked up the situation right where we had left-off months ago. The company stood behind their product and provided a replacement camera. We received the replacement camera quickly and in perfect condition, and it works as well as our first camera. Incredible customer service! I strongly recommend this product.

> 24 hourOur old monitors (Summer Infant Touch) were humming loudly and getting irritating. Having 3 kids in 3 separate rooms, we needed to replace the monitors and didnt want the hassle of dealing with multiple monitors like we had done for the past few years. The DXR-8s scan mode allows us to have an individual camera in each room sending a video and audio feed to a single monitor for us to monitor. It is so convenient. The scan mode rotates between rooms throughout the night and gives us peace of mind. The shortcut button is also wonderful for quick adjustments during the middle of the night. The picture quality is great and the audio is clear--plus there is little feedback! We are certainly pleased with our new purchase, which we made after a considerable amount of research. We see now why the DXR-8 received such great reviews from so many reviewers and websites.

> 24 hourUPDATED REVIEW------ This video monitor system works great, until it doesnt (we have two cameras and one monitor). My original review reflects that we had to exchange the first camera, and I thought it was a one-off issue, but now Im no longer happy with the overall quality of this system. It was difficult to decide how to rate this, because as long as the system works, it really is great, but the fact that 2 cameras failed within their first year due to different reasons, bumped the rating down to 2 stars for me. One camera stopped being able to move down, the other stopped working in night mode (so you couldnt see anything in the room and were basically back to an audio monitor). Its a hassle to exchange if you dont have a second monitor set as a backup, because you will be out of a baby monitor for a week or so while the defective unit is mailed back, received, and a new one is sent back to you. I awarded one star for a system that we loved as long as it did work and a second star for customer service (we contacted Infant Optics directly and they were very nice and helpful) that honors their promise to exchange the broken cameras (though we did have to pay for shipping back for any defective units). Overall though, I would expect the video monitor system to just work — especially with a baby or children in the house, Id rather not have to worry about equipment working and dealing with exchanges and the inconvenience of not having the video monitor while we wait for replacement. Sadly, I cannot recommend this system, which is too bad because if the cameras worked 100% of the time, this would easily be a 4 to 5 star product. ORIGINAL REVIEW------ PROS: • can be operated remotely to swivel and turn • good picture quality even in the dark • mounts easily (flush against the wall or standing up, long cable) • sleek look • great customer service • far reaching video signal (though see CONS note below) • can add multiple cameras to cover many rooms CONS: • camera stopped moving down (manufacturer replaced for free (we had to pay shipping of defective unit), easy return process) • signal reaches far but has a few trouble spots within the house, even close to the bedroom We have two cameras and one corresponding video monitor. The quality of the video feed is good and the image shows up well even when the room is dark. The best feature of the camera is its ability to swivel and turn, which you can operate remotely from the monitor — we have a crib and a big kid bed in one of the bedrooms, so its nice to be able to move between the two easily without having to adjust the camera angle manually. The camera signal reaches pretty far — were able to be out and about in the yard without ever losing contact. However, there are some trouble spots within the house, even very close to the bedroom with the camera, so we do have to move the monitor to a better spot frequently (by now weve figured out the best places to get a good signal in the house, it just takes a bit of trial and error). The camera is easy to mount to the wall — we just hung it from a nail and it sits flush and straight against the wall, but you can also just stand it up. When our newborn baby was still in our room, I simply taped the bottom of the camera to our bed post with a command strip and that held up perfectly. The cable is a good length, too, so you have some flexibility as to where to mount it relative to an outlet. The white color fits well with the rest of our white furniture and light gray walls, so the camera blends in pretty well with the rest of the room. We actually had an issue when one of our cameras stopped moving down after about 6-7 months of owning it — all the other directions worked, but it could not move to angle further down. We contacted the manufacturer and they sent us a new one — great customer service. Both cameras still going strong (both the original one that came with the monitor and the replacement one). Overall we really like this camera and monitor system.
