Infant Optics DXR-8 Add-on Camera (Not Compatible with DXR-8 PRO)

I bought this camera to ad to already purchased system to be able to monitor couple rooms at the same time. Picture quality is great whether it is a day or night. It gets little grainy with night mode but still very clear. I love the feature that I can adjust it horizontally and vertically via monitor. The unit is not split screen when used with more cameras, but it gives picture in 10 sec intervals between units. Quick shuffle button (OK) is great and helps to switch in need quickly and with ease if you need to choose one, two, or up to four cameras picture, or a scan mode. If you have a cell phone nearby the monitor it will interfere with a signal and unfortunately there is no silence option but you get a rather loud eating noise. This camera doesnt come standard with optical lens but its an option to buy. I currently dont need it so Im happy with how it is. So far Im liking this product and would recommend it to others.

We had the original monitor and camera unit and decided to purchase a second camera for our new baby. Quality is great, pairing the two cameras with the single monitor was easy. It switches back and forth between the two rooms with ease, about every ten seconds. Its worked very well for us and Im very pleased with this product for the years weve been using it. And, the icing on the cake, Infant Optics has AMAZING customer service. They are always willing to help with any concerns and are super fast to respond to any questions. I love this product and this company. Would highly recommend!

We bought this monitor to replace a cheaper one that we absolutely hate. I was seeking a monitor that had clear picture and sound but also that allowed the screen brightness to dim or brighten as I like leaving the monitor on at night but hate how bright they are. I also needed a monitor that could show the whole darn crib. Our old one had a cord that was too short to raise the camera any further so there was no way to capture the entire crib. Seriously? So, needless to say, this one is a major and drastic improvement. I appreciate the large screen size, the ability to switch to different cameras, the ease of turning up and down the volume, the scan feature, the long length of the camera cord, and the ability to change screen brightness.

We own a monitor and camera from Infant Optics. Both have worked perfect for over two years. We are very happy with the quality of the image, microphone function, speaker, battery life, and range of antenna signal. We decided to buy a second camera and had problems with it from the beginning. We contacted customer service and they quickly helped us troubleshoot the problem we were having. In the middle of trying to figure out what was going on with the camera, we had to move homes, the pandemic started, life got crazy and we lost track of the situation. After many months, we attempted to start using the camera again and the same problem we were having before continued, rendering the camera useless. We contacted Infant Optics, and they quickly picked up the situation right where we had left-off months ago. The company stood behind their product and provided a replacement camera. We received the replacement camera quickly and in perfect condition, and it works as well as our first camera. Incredible customer service! I strongly recommend this product.

I love that this is a closed loop, non-hackable system. Picture quality is great! I have been able to add cameras on as our family grows. The real factor that takes infant optics to the next level is their customer service! After about 18 months, our signal was dropping a lot and after emailing customer service, Gladys R was all over it!! Provided lots of step by step troubleshooting and frequently checked in to see how these tips were/weren’t working. There was small improvement but not great. She jumped all over coordinating the return of my monitor and sending me a new one without question. I already was happy with the product but the customer service has made me a customer for life and I’ve recommended and bought for my friends numerous times!

So this is our second monitor as we had a different monitor for our first baby. We decided on this monitor because the reviews are excellent. I gave the monitor a 4 star instead of a 5 star for two reasons. The first, I would have preferred a little bit larger screen. That said, the camera quality is so good that it isnt that big of a deal. The second reason is although there is this really cool feature called sleep where you can turn the monitor screen off but still have sound pumping through the monitor, there is a bright light on the side of the monitor that ends up being worse than having the picture on the screen on all night. Otherwise, we have really enjoyed the monitor. It was a breeze to set up and like I already said, the picture/camera quality is excellent.

This is a pretty good product, easy to use, does what it needs to most of the time. The only exterior design flaw is that its not very stable, rounded edges and an off center support make it easy to knock over. falling over exacerbates the second issue. The battery connection is absolute crap. It jiggles loose constantly and youll suddenly find that its just dead despite having been plugged in all day.They could have found a dozen ways to secure the battery cable but they seem to prefer selling new ones. I had to shell out about $80 the week I bought the camera because there is no warranty on the battery and they did nothing to troubleshoot to problem. But, if you open up the back and press firmly on the plastic part of the battery connection with something hard it will go back to working until one of the next times you reach for it in the dark and it falls off your nightstand.

Love this camera. The “zoom” it further out than our last, the Motorola. Which I love. Our old one was way too zoomed in, even at the furthest setting. I thought the wide angle was included with the new set. but it’s not. Thought we may need it but the regular one works fine. We’re able to see the kids whole bed. Looks like you can add up to 4 camera! That’s cool. I’ll be getting a 3rd

Very easy to add onto my current camera and monitor set up i purchased previously for our first child in 2017. The whole system is great. The night vision is good (not super great if over 7ft away because it gets a little grainy), the sound is great (I personally keep mine running on low and plugged in all night so I can hear my toddler who is on a different level of our home) and the talk feature is awesome. I love being able to flip through the different cameras or have it just stay on one all night. Very easy to set up and use. I had an issue with my power cord and the customer service is AWESOME. They will communicate with you over the phone, chat, text or email. I chose email and had an answer within 12 hour and a resolution just as quickly. No cost replacement of my power cord and it came within 2 days. Great experience all around. Good product good company, happy customer. End of story!

Easy to add cameras to this monitor system, purchased a second camera at the birth of our second child. Been using the system since 2015 with our first and still using them with our 3rd. Cameras are great and easy to control, provide good audio and push to talk which helps with the older ones. Main monitor device had one flaw using a micro usb charge port but have corrected that in 2019 with a barrel connector which is much more durable. Overall its been a great system and couldnt imagine not having it, company stands by their product and their customer service has been great when Ive had problems (related to usb charge port), quick and responsive and got me a solution to my problem quickly!
