This monitor system was great for almost two years. For the last few weeks though, the buttons on the display unit have been less and less reactive. I had to push each button 2 to 3 times to get any kind of response. Around the same time, I started having problems getting it to charge.I had to use a rubber band to put pressure on the connection. I tried different chargers and even purchased a different battery to see if this would help. It did not. I contacted customer service and was told that it was out of warranty, but they did offer me a decent discount on a new monitor/camera set. I took them up on the offer, since I already had two cameras that still worked perfectly fine. I would have given this unit 5 stars, but I feel that 2 years is not long enough for the price.

Update on 12/15/2020: The replacement monitor that was provided by the company, under warranty, failed at just 1 year, the screen freezes and I have to remove the battery and disconnect the power to reset it before putting it back to turn on again. Imagine your child crying and you have no idea because the monitor froze in the middle of the night. Customer service says its out of warranty, fair enough, but dont expect to buy this and use it for more than 1 year, 3-ish years max if it failed in the warranty period and they replace it for you. They offer me either to pay 45 to repair it, which includes shipping or 50% off to buy the new monitor. Imagine buying an Iphone and it fails after the warranty period is over and you have to pay to repair it or buy a new one at a discount, without assurance that it will last more than 1 year. This unit is not cheap and $165 for monitor and camera, then another $100 for an additional camera. I paid close to $300 for this thing and now its worthless. Correction to my initial review, not worth buying anymore. Original review: I purchased this about a year and a half ago when my twins were born, plus the additional camera so I could have one camera on each child. Recently, the monitor unit would not turn on and I was outside the warranty period. I contacted customer service and they walked me through a couple of steps to test the unit and see if we could reset it, that failed. They were so kind to provide me a replacement unit, I had to ship the broken one back. Kristine was very helpful throughout the whole process and walked me through everything step by step. One of the features I particularly like about this unit is the temperature monitor, since temperatures can differ from room to room, it allows me to adjust the thermostat accordingly so it doesnt get too hot for them in the summer or too cold for them in the winter. Picture quality is really good, quality is affected by the distance, so test how far you want to place the camera before mounting it, mine are mounted on the wall pointing downward. This is an expensive unit, but good product and good company. Worth buying.

One note that I didn’t realize is that on the monitor you can press OK to toggle between scan and cameras rather than having to go through menu.

This has been a great monitor and I would recommend purchasing! We used our first one for over a year; then we started having visibility issues. After contacting the company, they sent us a replacement and all I had to do was pay for shipping the old one back. We have purchased two cameras total and have been happy with our purchase. Night vision is great as well as day vision. I cant say enough positive things about the customer service when we had to contact them about the first one that started having issues. I highly recommend purchasing this camera.

we originally purchased a monitor and camera for our first child. We then bought another camera. SO easy to add and the monitor has 2 settings for multiple cameras, 1) you can select the OK button to switch between the cameras or 2) press and hold OK to enable a scan mode and the monitor will automatically switch between cameras after a couple seconds. Additional positive feedback/2+ year review, we had our monitor acting funny/sometimes wouldnt hold a full charge, maybe it was the way we connected it. I emailed them and they swapped our monitor out after showing proof we sent it back - we did have to pay to ship it back. We love this product and would highly recommend it. We have had friends purchase it and also love it. You can also mount the camera to the wall for when the kiddos grow and can reach the camera.

UPDATE! My love of this camera has slowly and steadily been going downhill. The original charger(which has now been redesigned to solve the issue) would fall out of the port and wouldn’t charge unless I plugged and propped it up with other items to get the perfect angle. I did receive a new parent screen and the updated charger at no cost but it was a pain to be without any monitor for 3-5 days when kids are on another floor. They couldn’t mail it until they received mine. My newest issue is battery life. It would be plugged in and just shut off! I ordered a new battery, followed all of the at home fixes and it is still happening. Seems the problem is when I have it flipping from one of room to another it can’t keep up and just shuts down. If I keep it on only one room all night it stays on. So what’s the purpose of that feature and being able to have up to four cameras? Also, the night vision used to be excellent but now only works in one room, it’s super grainy in the other room to the point that I’m just using it for sound not video. I was so hopeful in this product and sold so many friends on it I’m embarrassed. I am way too invested financially to switch now so we are just riding it out. I now have a 4.5 and 2.5 year old that share a room(night vision doesn’t work in there daytime is great but I don’t need it for daytime) and an 8 month old in his own room but I have to just listen for his cry since I can’t toggle at night. Blah! I researched SO many cameras. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this and love that you can link up to 4. They have been perfect for our 2 1/2 yr old and 7 1/2 mo old!

After doing a lot of research I found infant optics to be one of the best monitors. We revived the monitor and camera set as a gift from our registry. Here are the things we love: the picture quality, the range (we can sit out side at our neighbors house, be in our garage or other side of the house and have no issues), the temperature display. Here is the best part!! After using our monitor for a year and half the camera started to have a bad connection with the wires and would randomly loose connection to the monitor. I contacted customer service and they were amazing!! They were able to send me a replacement and our camera and monitor are working wonderfully! I just purchased a second camera for baby #2..we will forever use infant optics monitors!

We bought our first monitor for our son two years ago. We never realized the infrared sensor was not working and therefore, the night vision was poor. We thought it was just the system, so we stuck with it in order to avoiding purchasing a whole new monitor system with a different brand. Our second son was born recently and we purchased an add-on camera. We couldn’t believe the difference in quality. We called the company and that was when we realized the sensor must have come damaged with our original camera. However, since the one year warrantee had lapsed, they could offer us a 50% discount for a replacement. Customer services was quick and responsive. We did need to buy a separate zoom lens and battery replacement (with a much longer life), as well as a wall mount. Seen below: -Zoom lens: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ECGX24E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 -Battery replacement: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074J5B2LW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 -Wall mount: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RZCRW7X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I do wish it came with the technology to automatically switch to the room where a child is crying or making noise as opposed to always remaining on scan. In addition, it would be nice to be able to access the monitor though an app on my phone so I did not always need to bring the monitor with me (the range does reach a little outside the house).

I love that this is a closed loop, non-hackable system. Picture quality is great! I have been able to add cameras on as our family grows. The real factor that takes infant optics to the next level is their customer service! After about 18 months, our signal was dropping a lot and after emailing customer service, Gladys R was all over it!! Provided lots of step by step troubleshooting and frequently checked in to see how these tips were/weren’t working. There was small improvement but not great. She jumped all over coordinating the return of my monitor and sending me a new one without question. I already was happy with the product but the customer service has made me a customer for life and I’ve recommended and bought for my friends numerous times!
