> 24 hourDont trust the 5 star reviews. I bought this because there were so many 5 star reviews, but I found out later it was because the company offered a lot of people a free 2nd camara in exchange for 5 stars. Its still a decent set up, but not 5 stars, and not worth the price. The night Camara isnt too bad, but Ive seen better ones from friends and wish Id shopped around a little more. The reception isnt great, and it gets spotty even just being a few rooms away from the nursery. It routinely tells me its out of range, even if I havent moved the monitor. Weve checked wifi and other possible reasons for interference. The sound is also spotty, and most of the time its not bad, but it cuts in and out quite often. I like the feature of being able to add other cameras, and if you have it set to scan it will go back and forth between the two cameras, but it doesnt stay on one camera if baby is crying, which is kinda annoying. I love being able to control the camara and having such a wide area to scan. It comes with a zoom lens that you have to exchange with the normal lense, unscrewing and screwing back on, which is hassle, but at least it has the option. Overall, its not bad. I just wish Id I vested in something else.

> 24 hourThis camera was perfect for our first kid! However, it’s not ideal for two kids. We bought the extra camera, and connecting to the monitor was very easy. The part that I don’t like is the “scan” feature which is supposed to go back and forth between the kids room and it does just that but not all the time. I’ll set it on scan when I put our kids to bed, and an hour later it will stop scanning and just stay on whichever room it was on. I found this out the hard way when I couldn’t hear my new baby crying cause the “scan” was stuck on my toddlers room. It will still say it’s in scan, but it’s not scanning. So before I go to bed I have to just put it on the babies room. Thankfully 99% of the time my toddler sleeps through the night. It’s annoying that it doesn’t scan all the time. If I would have know this I would of bought a split screen monitor system.

> 24 hourI love that this is a closed loop, non-hackable system. Picture quality is great! I have been able to add cameras on as our family grows. The real factor that takes infant optics to the next level is their customer service! After about 18 months, our signal was dropping a lot and after emailing customer service, Gladys R was all over it!! Provided lots of step by step troubleshooting and frequently checked in to see how these tips were/weren’t working. There was small improvement but not great. She jumped all over coordinating the return of my monitor and sending me a new one without question. I already was happy with the product but the customer service has made me a customer for life and I’ve recommended and bought for my friends numerous times!

> 24 hourThis is an exact match for the original infant optics camera that came with the monitor we bought for our first child. It looks a little silvery in the picture, but the camera is white with a white cord, which makes it easy to blend into our white walls. This is one of the few cameras that has pan-tilt motors built in, and also 2 zoom settings, microphone, and two-way audio. We have been very happy with the Infant Optics system with our first son (in use for 2 years) and now with our second son and the add-on camera (in use for 1 month). Following the instructions it was very easy to pair with our existing monitor. There is no split screen/audio option. Instead, we can choose which camera will be displayed or to cycle between all cameras on 10 second intervals. Also, if you have the original camera, check the range of where you will be installing the new camera. I dont think its related to this camera itself, but our 2nd crib is right on the threshold of the range from our bed. As such, there is some delay in both directions and the audio/video cuts in and out regularly. But we have thick walls, and the bed is around 3 corners and a solid wood door.

> 24 hourWe have been using this camera system for one year now, and I have no complaints. We have one camera at home and one at our babysitters. The viewer-screen travels back and forth daily, with no issues! It can be used both locations to connect with either camera. The camera is easy to mount on the wall or set on a shelf. It has a long cord and so does the viewers charger. Our viewer can still go for about 3 hours without needing a charge, although I do plug it in all night long. Occasionally we have some small challenges where my phones wi-fi interferes a bit with the sound from the monitor, but its never a big deal. You can turn off the annoying beep for when it loses connectivity. I looked at a lot of monitors before our son was born, and I can say Im happy with this one!

> 24 hourI’ve had this system for 2 years now. I originally bought the camera and monitor but when my son got older and became a toddler we bought a second camera with a wide angle lens for the playroom. This system has worked great for us with little problems. I did have to replace the charger after a year as it didn’t work. But the battery itself was fine. My only complaint is that it doesn’t reach as far as it says. My sons room is upstairs on the opposite side of our 3600sq ft home from our master bedroom, and sometimes if I put my phone next to the monitor at night it will beep that it is out of range. Might just be the walls, but we also can’t walk past our neighbors house and watch either. We like to go over for a drink after bedtime to the house directly nextdoor to us (and our houses are like 10 feet apart). It works but only in certain parts of their house.

> 24 hourWe purchased this monitor after our previous monitor by Summer Infant was discontinued so we weren’t able to get a second camera to hook up to it, so we took advantage of the opportunity to try out a new brand! The good reviews and personal recommendations encouraged us to go with this monitor, and having used it for a while I thought I’d leave a quick review. Pros: Battery life is pretty good It’s nice to be able to turn off the beep for when the battery is low or you go out of range It has the temperature of the room, which is GREAT, our last one didn’t have that It has an icon to show when the talk button is being pressed and the camera end is able to hear you (another feature I like that our last one didn’t have) It has most of the features I expect (2 way communication, video screen, ability to turn on and off the screen to save battery, night vision) Cons: Image is not the most amazing for nighttime use, it’s still a little grainy (our last monitor was the same if not a little better) The image is choppy, especially at night. It doesn’t flow smoothly like a video ought to, instead it is like a bunch of pictures stitched together quickly (our last monitor was way better in this respect) I wish you could adjust the volume on the monitor elsewhere rather than going into the menu each time The kickstand is a little flimsy and it falls over by itself a lot When you turn the screen on it flashes the last image it showed, then updates to the current image. It makes it look like my kid is moving when he’s been still for who knows how long! I miss the charging station of our last monitor, you could just plop it on the station to charge instead of having to plug it in and keep track of the plug and make sure it doesn’t fall off the back of your nightstand when you unplug it for a minute… It was a really nice feature! It would be nice to see the percentage of battery left rather than just estimate based on the battery image looking less or more full Unsure: Range – our friends tell us the range is amazing on their unit, but we’ve had it break up a couple times within our small house (though we think there is lead paint in the walls or something else to prevent it from working 100%. Our last monitor worked about the same) I’m not sure what the antenna does, if it actually helps anything or is just in the way. We haven’t tried or needed the second lens yet, maybe with the baby it will be more helpful since he doesn’t move all around the crib like the older kid does I haven’t figured out what the short cut button is for, and why they dedicated so much space to it Overall a pretty good monitor, and I think

> 24 hourOur old monitors (Summer Infant Touch) were humming loudly and getting irritating. Having 3 kids in 3 separate rooms, we needed to replace the monitors and didnt want the hassle of dealing with multiple monitors like we had done for the past few years. The DXR-8s scan mode allows us to have an individual camera in each room sending a video and audio feed to a single monitor for us to monitor. It is so convenient. The scan mode rotates between rooms throughout the night and gives us peace of mind. The shortcut button is also wonderful for quick adjustments during the middle of the night. The picture quality is great and the audio is clear--plus there is little feedback! We are certainly pleased with our new purchase, which we made after a considerable amount of research. We see now why the DXR-8 received such great reviews from so many reviewers and websites.

> 24 hourI bought this add on camera to go with my monitor that I was already using for my daughter, and this camera did not have the same picture quality as the one that came with the monitor. We tried to move it to different places all over the room, and nothing was helping the picture quality. It was very blurry and very pixilated. I contacted customer service, and I had to provide them with my proof of our purchase and a picture of the serial number of the camera, and send it back, and they are currently sending me a new camera. They even upgraded the shipping to two day shipping for me instead of having me wait the normal 5-7 business days. It was very easy to contact customer service and the representative that helped me couldn’t have been nicer. I hope this new camera will work better than the one I am sending back!

> 24 hourI absolutely LOVE this camera setup! Before this I had tried two different types that have to go through the internet and pair with your phone- awful! The reception where I live sucks so maybe that had something to do with it, I don’t know, but it was a nightmare trying to pair them, operate, etc. So I tried this brand realizing “why do I need to see my baby via my cell phone? I’m not leaving her alone at home.” OMG, SO SIMPLE to set this up and use and it NEVER fails! The camera bought prompting this review was the second addition so I could have one upstairs and one downstairs. It paired with the original monitor in seconds, the Home Screen and operating buttons are clear and intuitive to use- zero guess work in operating it, and the cameras rotate a lot so you’ve got plenty of wiggle room to get the best view. Love the whole thing!
