Infant Optics Wide Angle Lens For DXR-8

> 3 dayThis lens is good during the day providing sharp wide picture of the baby room. Unfortunately, it is absolutely useless at night even with low light on in the room. I have purchased Infant Optics DXR-8 baby video monitor for my sons room because it included night vision feature allowing us to keep track on him without disturbing his sleep. The original lens that came with the camera does a great job, but the provides limited field of view only covering about a 1/4 of the 9 x 9 room. Wide angle lens allows us to see most of the room and actually provides sharper picture compared to the original lens. However, it seems to block/reflect the IR light at night making the monitor too dark to see anything.

> 3 dayThe wide angle day time view is great. We were able to see so many angles of the room. But as these photos show, the night vision is horrible compared to the lens you initially receive with the monitor. I guess I wasnt surprised with the price. But Id gladly pay more for one that works.

> 3 dayWith products like this it makes me wonder what we have been doing this whole time! Missing out, that’s what. Very rarely are we this satisfied with a product. So easy to install. Captures the entire room so we can keep track of our extremely active toddler. Can’t recommend this enough!

> 3 dayGreat Add on lens for the Optics baby cam. The only down fall I have with it is, the picture quality is not as clear now ( especially when you zoom in). Otherwise love that I can my little ones entire room so well.

> 3 dayWe love our infant optics baby monitor and this lense is perfect for getting the wide angle view. I had struggled for months monitoring the kids in their play room before I realized this lense was available for sale. After installing this lense, which took less than a minute, I could see their entire playroom and what the kids were doing when I couldnt be in the room with them. Worth the money for sure.

> 3 dayDefinitely helps us see all three of our kids in their room when its mounted high enough. The problem is this lens isnt as crisp in the darkness as the original lense that came with our Infant Optics monitor. We hesitate to go back to the original because we like the wide angle, but it can be hard to make out details at night. We find ourselves staring a little too close at the monitor trying to figure out whos crying or moving around. 4 stars though because I like it.

> 3 dayThis is the lens that Infant Optics should include with the baby monitor from the factory. The viewing angle is much better/wider than the zoom lens or when using just the “hood“ lens. Additionally, infrared night vision is not impaired (at least not for our unit that was purchased around 06/2019).

> 3 dayI love our Infant Optics camera. We recently converted my daughters crib to a toddler bed. I ordered the wide lens to be able to see more of her room in case she doesnt stay in her bed. The night vision on the wide lens is absolutely awful. I have decided not to use it at all.

> 3 dayOur daughter just transitioned into a toddler bed and she likes to get up and explore her room so we had to get the wide angle lens. We have used these cameras with the monitor for 2.5 years and have not had any issues that couldnt be fixed but the picture quality in night vision mode truely is awful. I did read the others reviews and was hoping i wouldnt have the same opinion but unfortunately i do. I need this lense no matter what so now we just have to deal with it. but i wouldnt recommend this to anybody.
