InSinkErator Garbage Disposal with Power Cord, Badger 5, Standard Series, 1/2 HP Continuous Feed, Black

It is a garbage disposal so what else could it do. It is quiet and does the job.

Needed to replace an older (8 years) InSinkErator disposal that had stopped working, and bought this one because the dimensions are identical. Installation was thus a snap as all of the existing drain piping could be used without modification, and I could use the sink-mount from the old unit. Took all of 15 minutes to replace.

I thought this had broken, but the switch that it was installed into needed to be unplugged and plugged back in. I installed it at my moms house and she insisted it was broken and she had tried resetting it. Well I went over and unplugged everything and it started again, so I’m changing my review to five stars. Mainly because it’s really easy to install, and I don’t like giving bad reviews. Especially when it’s user error and no fault of the manufacturer :)

4 stars only for the following reasons: Instructions are vague, unit is a little bit on the louder side, you NEED a car jack to install it, and it did not come with the appropriate dishwasher drain hose adapter. How many households DONT have a dishwasher? This is a very cheap rubber adapter part (sold on amazon) that they should include in every unit package to avoid the hassle of having to order another part and wait an extra day or 2 with an unusable dishwasher.

Easy to install following directions in English. Be sure to remove the plug if you have a dishwasher! Also, make sure you have an outlet or know how to uninstall/rewire the electrical plug.

Works well and easy to use. It appears to lost a long time as I replaced an earlier model 17 years after installation. Good value for money.

This garbage disposal is a real value for the money… it works just great and the noise level is better than my last one :)

Good product but had to switch out the compression fitting that connects to the drain line to a threaded connector. After 8 years of use the Badger 5 that I replaced came with the threaded connector. This one did not.
