Suction seems good on a vinyl floor. We have tons of pet hair and it gets it. Seems to hit every area. Gets easily hung up by the overhang of our stairs and then asks me to move it to new location, which is a little annoying. It’s not whisper quiet while vacuuming but when it goes to the base and empties itself it’s very loud for about 5 seconds. If you’re not home, who cares! Still an amazing feature well worth the extra $.

Works well for keeping wood floors clean. The one problem I encountered with the iRobot i4 was during set up. I created an account on the iRobot Home app, but the i4 was not syncing to the wifi network. I also bought a M6 iRobot mop and there were no issues connecting the mop to the app to my iPhone. I have an iPhone 8 and there is currently an issue with the iRobot Home app and iPhone. I was able to get the i4 to sync and connect through the app with my wifes Samsung phone. After that I can see the i4 on my iPhone, start and stop vacuum jobs, and program which rooms Id like cleaned. I am able to look at the data the vacuum provides after each use. It tells me how long it was running, what areas of the house it vacuumed, how many square feet were cleaned. It is used daily and keeps dirt and pet hair down and out of the way.

I have two cats, so theres cat hair and litter everywhere in my apartment. The room with the litter box needs vacuumed daily, as well as the kitchen which is adjacent (both are linoleum flooring). The irobot Roomba does a pretty good job, but sometimes it misses things and I can still see cat litter on the floor after it vacuums. Not much though, and it really beats having to do it manually myself everyday. I vacuum the carpeted spaces once a week to once every two weeks. Sometimes it doesnt pick up the cat hair on the carpet, but it will bunch it up into clumps that are easy enough for me to pick up by hand. It does pick up a good amount of hair though. Ive had it for a couple of months now and Ive had to clean out the dirt bag maybe 3 times; Im cheap and environmentally conscious, so when the bag gets full Ive been pulling the dirt and hair and stuff out manually instead of throwing the bag away and having to replace it. So in doing that, I can see that it does pick-up a ton of stuff. The battery life is good, and yeah its loud like a lot of the reviews say, but it isnt that bad. If you can get it on sale, its worth it.

What a waste of money. I thought I was upgrading from a much cheaper off brand, but definitely not. We have a very simple ~2000 sq ft first floor and this device couldn’t handle it. After over 5 hours of mapping, where it couldn’t find its way through four foot passage ways to the other side of the house, this pile of junk canceled the mapping and disregarded all the data it had collected on its own. Wtf?? It cancelled itself? Disregarded all mapping data it had collected?? How is that possible? And watching it, I can’t believe the way it went about itself. It always made the wrong choose of direction. It was like a child was driving it. I started it at 5pm and found it the next morning dead and half on its base. Makes no sense. It literally couldn’t even align itself to the charging pads. Every time I run it since, it gets lost and can’t seem to make it home. Even when I explicitly send it home. I’ve even gone so far and closed all doors in our house so it has a smaller space and it still doesn’t return home.

So I’ve been eyeing these vacuums for a while. We are a family of 4, 2 young kids, 2 cats and 1 dog. I was tired of vacuuming and arguing with my SO over vacuuming so invested in one of these. Pros: Easy to set up Vacuum collection is great as you dont need to empty the robot all the time Suction is good. Even sucked to the cat litter up! Managed to navigate the tile to the hardwood which is a big ledge. Downside: I felt like it cleaned my kitchen 8x before venturing into the living room. The whole “goes in rows” didn’t seem to work well as I was watching the machine like a hawk and it didn’t just go in rows. When the machine did make it the living room, it kept diverting back to the kitchen… not sure why. Lastly, after a 56 minute constant clean, the robot didn’t make it back to home base to change. It just died on the floor and I had to pick it up. Lastly, because it kept circulating the kitchen, in the 58 minute clean it never made it to the living room. As a result, I persuaded my SO to buy me the upgraded j6 in hope for a better performance to fix all my complains. Standby for that post.

Having a breed that sheds daily, this product has been a lifesaver. I no longer have to worry about vacuuming three times a day, knowing that the roomba will take care of it highly recommend, if you have pets.

Overall this is an excellent product. I can set it do work while Im away from home. Its quieter than my stand up vacuum and can get to hard to reach places like under my fireplace bench. It does have mapping just not the smart mapping that all the other reviews said it as missing. You have the option to join beta testing through the app so who knows maybe itll be added one day. Pros: Self-emptying and charging picks-up pet hair and dirt motivates me to clean where is robot cant go (like my stairs) scheduled cleanings easily done through the app teamwork-I can focus on other areas of my house to clean while to robot is working Cons: Culture of waste created by the company to make profit. The replaceable parts are purposely not meant to last. I can already see that the brushes will need to be replaced in 6 months or less. (Ive had this robot for about a week) Dust bags are disposable not reusable for the i4 Considering all the replacement part youll have to buy over the life time of the product the price point is too high.

Some online review says, this is the same Vaccum as i7 or i6 except the camera. It probably is the case but the difference in performance is huge… this has gotten stuck over the edges of a cliff a couple of times (did not fall) and 1 out of 5 times it cannot find its way back home. That’s why 1 less star. Does excellent job with dog hair, sharp sucks comparatively. Battery life is superb… Lastly do not buy Amazon warehouse deals… the i6 I bought from warehouse deals has gone useless after 3 months because it won’t even start.

This product is probably good for the average user, however, for me, it just doesn’t work. My American Eskimo shed so much that the vacuum can’t pick it up.
