> 3 dayLove the Roombas. I have the more expensive i9 but bought the i4 for another floor. I wish it had the mapping of the i9 so I can do small areas and not the whole floor. Other than that feature, it is great cleaning up dog hair and other debris from carpets and hardwood floors. I have 4 which run every day and do a great job. They are a little noisy on hardwoods.

> 3 dayIs it as good as my regular Shark vacuum? No, not really for carpet. But for hard floors, it’s good for everyday general vacuuming. Especially for the dog hair. And I like that it self empties and I don’t have to watch for the full light and stop it to manually empty it. When my husband got it for me he thought it ran back and forth in a line but it runs rather randomly and doesn’t necessarily finish one room before it leaves back to another and comes back again, but to be fair, it is a pretty open floor plan, but the “map” looks like different rooms. I haven’t tried to tell it to only vacuum a certain room. I recommend if you have hard floors and pets or a lot of dirt being tracked in everyday.

Greater than one weekIt does struggle a bit with deeper dust or larger pieces of dirt so I do still use my Dyson once every now and again, but I set the Roomba to clean everything downstairs every night and it keeps the pet hair perfectly under control (I have one medium coated dog, one short haired cat, and one medium to long haired cat whose hobby is shedding huge clumps of fur everywhere, as well as frequently watching my grandmothers cat, so, lots of fur). Ill likely get a second one for upstairs at some point.

Greater than one weekI love Roombas...Ive had 3 over the years, and they are great if you have the right setup for them. Doesnt eliminate vacuuming entirely but really spreads it out, especially in main areas. My problem with this one is that I bought the base that empties itself, and had no idea it requires disposable bags! They are expensive! I would never have bought it had I realized that - I hate dealing with disposable bags, and its completely unnecessary. I would rather dump it out myself. They could definitely design this with something you wouldnt have to replace when you empty it. This just seems like a money grab to me. Save your money and get the version without the self-emptying bin that requires expensive refills every time.

Greater than one weekSo, we bought one of these for our main floor. Had it for a few weeks, and loved it. Created a map on the first cycle, and all was good. So we bought another one for the second floor. This one was on the spectrum I think... Ran it probably 7 times, and it would not create a map. Then it started running in circles, going up and down the same area, just acting weird. Tried contacting support, useless. I put in the ticket almost two weeks ago and still havent heard back. We ended up sending it back to Amazon, and got a new unit. This one is doing much better but still had some issues. On the first couple runs, it cleaned our whole house but for some reason only created half a map. Then when it would clean, it wouldnt go any further even though the map ended right in our hallway. It would stop in the middle of the hallway and go back. Deleted the map, then had it to another everywhere run. This finally worked. So, I would recommend it but but only because the first example we bought did such a great job. Hopefully both of these dont need much support, because Im not sure support is even available given my experience... Update 11/25/2022: The 2nd floor unit has been doing pretty good. Both of our i4s have issues periodically. Sometimes they just decide they will not finish the whole floor and report back they did, or get caught on something stupid like an electric piano stand. Or, occasionally the map wont load. Overall though, they do a very good job of keeping the floors clean. (Upgrading to a 4 star rating) Most errors can be cleared by simply rebooting them. We also bought a refurbished i7 for our finished basement which is mostly carpet. The i7 is a much smarter robot, and hasnt got caught or had any problems yet. Its much more efficient at cleaning too. If you can afford the i7, it will be less hassle but the i4s generally get the job done.

> 3 dayI have 5GH wifi and this product only runs on 2.4GH, so back it goes! I never saw that anywhere on the Amazon listing, on the box, in the instructions, only after the connection to the app failed four times did I notice that in the app, thats where it says it. 2 hours of my life I wont get back.

> 3 dayWhat a waste of money. I thought I was upgrading from a much cheaper off brand, but definitely not. We have a very simple ~2000 sq ft first floor and this device couldn’t handle it. After over 5 hours of mapping, where it couldn’t find its way through four foot passage ways to the other side of the house, this pile of junk canceled the mapping and disregarded all the data it had collected on its own. Wtf?? It cancelled itself? Disregarded all mapping data it had collected?? How is that possible? And watching it, I can’t believe the way it went about itself. It always made the wrong choose of direction. It was like a child was driving it. I started it at 5pm and found it the next morning dead and half on its base. Makes no sense. It literally couldn’t even align itself to the charging pads. Every time I run it since, it gets lost and can’t seem to make it home. Even when I explicitly send it home. I’ve even gone so far and closed all doors in our house so it has a smaller space and it still doesn’t return home.

> 3 dayI have four small dogs and I don’t know why I waited so long to buy the iRobot Roomba!

Great but broke
> 3 dayThis roomba was amazing, it mapped out our whole apt and would vacuum everything - so easy to turn it on and leave for the morning. It is a bit loud, so we can’t run it while we are in the same space; our dog also hates it. We did have to return it within a month because our left wheel died, but will be getting another one.

Greater than one weekThe product is great! It didnt come with a manufacturer waranty, registration or a QR code to help with set up. This is strange. Product was sold to me as new, wouldnt this information be included?
