> 3 day(1)Both products are extremely delicious and its difficult to resist the temptation to eat too much. (2)Both products contain 1000 micrograms of methylcobalamin per tablet and will easily and rapidly dissolve in our mouth. (3)Both products are economically priced but the Jarrow Formulas product is 11.78% cheaper per tablet than the Source Naturals product. (4)One white-colored Jarrow Formulas tablet (lozenge) is much, much larger than one pink-colored Source Naturals tablet. (5)Jarrow Formulas other ingredients: xylitol, cellulose, vegetable-source stearic acid, lemon flavor, vegetable-source magnesium stearate, citric acid, and silicon dioxide. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans. (6)Source Naturals other ingredients: mannitol, sorbitol, natural cherry flavor, stearic acid, and magnesium stearate. Conclusion: Source Naturals is better if you want just the methylcobalamin with as little as possible of everything else. Jarrow Formulas is better if you want to enjoy the extremely delicious taste of a much larger tablet (lozenge) at a slightly lower price per tablet. Color Changes: Source Naturals starts out as a tiny, very slightly pinkish, white tablet that turns moderately dark pink if left outside of the pill bottle for 3 to 12 hours. Jarrow Formulas starts out as a large tablet with the exact same, very slightly pinkish, white color. However, unlike the tiny, circular, chewable, Source Naturals tablet, the large, circular, chewable, Jarrow Formulas tablet doesnt change color much if left outside of the pill bottle for 3 to 12 hours. The pink dots on the Jarrow Formulas tablet will get darker and more noticeable after being left outside of the pill bottle for 3 to 12 hours but the original, very slightly pinkish, white color will still be the predominant color. Like other forms of vitamin B12, methylcobalamin is pink and apparently gets even pinker when these tablets react with the humidity in the air. Question: Does methylcobalamin get absorbed better than cyanocobalamin? Answer: Yes, slightly. Question: Does sublingual vitamin B12 get absorbed better than swallowed vitamin B12? Answer: Yes, slightly, but not because the skin under the tongue is any better at absorbing vitamin B12 than the skin of the small intestines, where most of the vitamin B12 absorption occurs. Sublingual merely extends the total length of the absorption zone by about 5%. To get the full benefit of that extra 5%, we would need to keep the sublingual tablet in our mouth for about 15 minutes. The large intestines cannot absorb any vitamin B12, even though plenty of vitamin B12 is always being produced in everybody [including vegans] by the bacteria inhabiting the large intestines. Question: What increases and what decreases vitamin B12 absorption? Answer: Calcium increases vitamin B12 absorption. Vitamin C decreases vitamin B12 absorption. Eating vitamin B12 together with food increases vitamin B12 absorption. THE BIG PICTURE: The human brain shrinks in size as it gets older and vegans, who tend to be deficient in vitamin B12, have the fastest rates of brain shrinkage as they get older while people who swallow vitamin B12 pills tend to have the slowest rates of brain shrinkage as they get older. Meat eaters have slower rates of brain shrinkage compared to vegans but faster rates of brain shrinkage compared to vitamin B12 pill swallowers. Aim to actually absorb exactly 6 to 9 micrograms of vitamin B12 per day to stay at the optimum blood level of vitamin B12. Therefore, my advice to the vast majority of people is: Because we can only absorb about 1.05% of the vitamin B12 that we swallow, we need to swallow one 500 microgram pill once each day or one 5,000 microgram pill once each week to end up absorbing the optimum amount.

> 3 dayThese are great for anyone with suspected difficulty in absorbing B12 (due to many factors including digestive issues, MTHFR gene variations, etc.). I decided to start on a low dose to avoid any possible negative side effects, so for the first 2 or so weeks I cut the tablets into fourths and took one of the fourths per day. The tablets are not scored, but are large enough that they are relatively easy to cut with a sharp knife. I have successfully cut them into halves and fourths. After a couple of weeks I bumped up to a half tablet, and after a couple more weeks I bumped up to one full tablet. I have been taking these for a little over a month now and havent noticed any significant positive or negative effects. However, since I have MTHFR variations, I feel that it is worth supplementing with methyl B12. If you use these properly (place the tablet under your tongue without chewing), a full tablet will take a long time to dissolve. I usually keep it under my tongue to dissolve for as long as I can stand (5-10 minutes) and then chew the rest and rub the chewed powder part on my gums (the mucus membranes throughout the mouth can absorb the B12, not just under the tongue). Next time, I will probably order the 5000 mcg tablets and cut them into fourths since that is cheaper than buying the 1000 mcg tablets (although these are already a reasonable price).

> 3 dayB12 supplements really work. More than doubled my B12 level, and energy level is great all day. Only negative to this brand is that its described as a lozenge. Lozenges dissolve. This doesnt dissolve--it would take 30 minutes for this to dissolve. Chewable is a better description. But it still works.

> 3 dayThis B12 placed under the tongue will not completely dissolve; it needs to be chewed. Flavor is not as good as other brands I have previously used.

> 3 dayHas a nice flavor. Takes a while to dissolve under the tongue but you can chew it up a little first to make it go faster. Cant say I experienced any miracles, but I think it did help with a mild boost in mood, energy, and mental clarity. Might be worth a shot if you arent getting enough b12 in your diet or other supplements, especially if you have problems with anxiety and/or depression.

Greater than one weekWas diagnosed with B12 deficiency due to taking Metformin. I was tired all the time and feeling poorly. My endocrinologist recommended B12 vitamins. These do the job and I have been feeling great. My blood test shows my B12 problem is gone. Very pleased with this product. Thanks.

> 3 dayI almost returned these after realizing they were lozenges instead of pills but I decided to try one just in case and was pleasantly surprised. they were small tablets and the taste (lemon) was hardly there and not overbearing! I expected a very strong medicine lemon taste. Not at all what I expected. Would highly recommend.

> 3 dayFrom the research I did before purchase, Im satisfied Jarrow makes quality vitamins. The taste is nice, not overwhelming and not like a kid product. I got these for my wife because she has tinnitus and they seem to be helping after two weeks of use.

12-04-2025I always seemed to to run out of energy but lunch time even though I try to eat nutrition foods. I started to take the Sublingual B-12 first in the morning which is 1000 mcg( not very tasty) before starting my morning and took 2 tabs during the day.. After a few days, I started to notice that I had actually stopped yawning at working and felt kind of supercharged during the day not even feeling hungry sometimes. I used to drink at least 3 cups of coffee by the time I got to work and another 3 at least during the day. Now, i have at least 2 cups for the whole day and even really dont need anymore during the day. Now, I do not know how B-12 will affect everyone else, but its worth the effort for me. Besides, B-12 is great for overall well being of the body

> 3 dayIt may be placebo, but I really do feel a difference with these. I have noticed that my pee doesnt turn a neon yellow which makes me feel like the vitamin B is actually being absorbed, but that could be faulty logic (maybe its the niacin in other brands that does that.) I put the lozenge under my tongue and it takes about 50 minutes to dissolve. It leaves behind an odd mush, which isnt the most pleasant thing in the world, but its not horrendous. Id like to see the lozenge be a bit more dissolve friendly, but for price paid and results, or lack there of (ie no violent diarrhea, stomach aches) I will call it a good bargain.
