> 3 daySo this worked perfectly fine through insulation and drywall. I had a jbox in my garage and couldn’t figure out where it went. Had no power to the wiring but wanted to figure out if it was connected to anything else or maybe a random switch. Found the end of the wire clipped off near the panel in a few minutes. Mystery solved. 120v circuit. Pretty easy to trace through the wall and follow it’s path.

> 3 dayDon’t waste your time with this product if your wires are behind drywall. This product isn’t very effective, nor worth the price.

> 3 dayIt works good. Fluke is better at precise pinpointing. I had the power turned on once well my tracer was hooked up, ever since it doesn’t work, exactly right. It will pick up other wires that have power on them. Other than that it’s OK.

> 3 dayThe toner is fine, however the speaker on the wand is incredibly weak. Even with the volume turned all the way up, you gotta have the wand physically touching the wire to get tone. And anyone who has toned cables knows how unhelpful that is when try to locate wire in bundles or on a rack full of patch panels.
