Komelon SL2825 Self Lock 25-Foot Power Tape

Ok-I started in life as a professional carpenter, having served a four year apprenticeship, then becoming a journeyman. I left the trade in 1989 to start a manufacturing plant and have been there ever since, but I have retained woodworking as a hobby. I would be considered a very advanced hobbyist furniture builder, much preferring non-electrified tools, such as handsaws, chisels, etc.

bought this at Lowes for 9.98 + tax. Excellent product - the self lock feature is exactly what I needed and is very useful.

I bought a bunch of these for offices throughout a building for the occasional picture hanging and will this furniture fit here? questions. It is super handy, sturdy, and not like the wimpy little 3-6 foot ones but yet not massive like the 25 foot ones. Perfect for what we needed.

Ok for the price. Less then $5 when I bought 12 at a time. They just dont last as long as others.

If you want a self-locking tape that doesnt, this is it. Mine creeps, right from the first use. Even at very short distances--it creeps with measurements longer than 8 inches. Since its default self-locking, there is no way to manual lock. Its a total sham. Dont buy this tape.

It’s already not locking in place and sliding back as I’m trying to use it.
