Leviton DW15A-1BW Decora Smart Wi-Fi Plug-in Outlet, Works with Amazon Alexa, No Hub Required

Leviton is a company that does not stand by their products very well and expects contractors to eat a loss at their expense. We have 15 timers ltb 30 and ltb 60 on 4 different jobs buzzing extremely loudly. DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCT. EXTREMELY BAD PRODUCT. We are expected to travel to the job sites, take down the numbers and sizes, Leviton sends us replacements and then we have to do the work at our own expense to swap these items out. Well screw that, if they cant stand by their product enough to reimburse us professionals for our lost time, we have the right to send our business to someone else. After 39 years in business, I will no longer buy or refer any one to any Leviton products. Buy P&S. Much better equipment and company.

Works great with Alexa!

After having great success with the new Z-wave+ products from Leviton I decided to try out a wifi plug in outlet and I am happy to say that this device is just as reliable and easy to use as all of my other Leviton products. The biggest stand out feature of this Plug in outlet is the fact that since it operates on Wifi it does not need a Zwave hub (smarthings or Wink) to function. I think this is an amazing option for a lot of people that dont want to invest in getting a home automation hub and want to just use their wifi as the control. Set up was a breeze, followed the simple start guide, got the My Leviton app and was up and running in under 2 minutes. Since this is an appliance control (On/Off) and not a dimming module like the other module Leviton sells, I decided to use this to turn on my coffee maker every morning. Setting a schedule to do this in the My Leviton is SUPER simple. I look forward to having my coffee waiting for me every morning! Lastly, I set up Alexa control for the switch. Like most Alexa skills, you just add it in the smart home section of the app, enter your My Leviton credentials, and you are ready to go. Now whenever I want to turn the switch on or off all I have to do is ask Alexa to turn what I named the switch on or off. Wohoo! Thank you Leviton for making such an easy to use product!

This is a simple way to give yourself a wifi switch that also interacts with other devices. The selling point is that you dont need a hub to use these, since they connect back to leviton directly. And because they interact with Alexa as well. The downside is now youre limited by leviton to what they will do, but its a fairly big company. The switch itself isnt super tiny, and the on/off button isnt great, I prefer the WeMo style or some of the other new ones (plus they seem to have better overall integration with SmartThings and such).

Excellent product. Makes integrating your existing home lighting with an Amazon Alexa simple, without the need to spend extra money on special bulbs and lights. Easy to set up and works great! Highly recommend.

Already have one leviton light switch so it meant install was even easier for this plug version. Set it up and linked to Alexa within a few minutes!

I am a newbie to home automation and wanted to ease my way into it. I have a tower of lights that has individual lamps that need to be turn on each time. It is a pain to use them so they dont get used much. The tower has a standard plug cord so i decided to try the Leviton Plug-in and see if i could turn them on at once with Alexa and/or an app. Set-up was really easy. I plugged in the unit to the outlet, plugged in the lamp cord, downloaded the Leviton App and followed the instructions on the app. The entire process took less that 5 minutes. Once the app/device was set up I went to the Alexa app and linked the plug-in. This too was very easy. Now all i have to do is tell Alexa to turn on/off the lights and voila, it does. I also liked the ability to set up timed events on the Leviton app. Now if have the lights go on/off when I am away so people think there is someone home. Based on this experience I am sold on home automation and will be ordering 600W dimmers for my Kitchen and bedrooms. Leviton has made a high quality device that is very easy to set-up and even easier to use.
