TLDR: Love it IQ is amazing (Coming from an Acer Predator which some would argue has one of the better IPS panels available) hoping 21:9 becomes more widely accepted in games. I came form 2 27 monitors and def. prefer this. Wish USB Hub was on the side NOT the back but otherwise very happy with this purchase. Also wish this has at least a built in speaker but thats just a nitpick at this point. If you are looking at this monitor as a potential purchase, just do it and if you are on the fence about curved monitors hop off the fence and join in, I think it actually adds to immersion plus can save some space. Coming from a 27 Acer Predator XB271HU IPS monitor I was worried because I always thought the predator had one of the best looking IPS panels Ive seen and this is my first curved monitor. Image: For Gaming: Awesome Image Quality and color representation and contrast however be prepared for a lot of games not FULLY supporting 21:9. Most game menus and or cinematics will play with black boxes on the sides but this hopefully will change as this aspect ratio becomes more prevalent. Lastly even without overclocking this screen I have no ghosting. For Movies/Video: Again same issue as most content providers like Netflix, Amazon Prime etc. dont natively support 21:9 so you will have some black bars however you can use some browser addons such as Ultrawidify which will stretch the image to fit without cropping and to me it does not look bad.. HDR: Meh Windows HDR sucks, some games suppport it but most of the time with a few exceptions its not worth it and looks better without it turned on Build: I love the look and build quality looks solid but I gotta say the stand it comes with kinda sucks I thought the predator stand was much nicer. Up/Down Tilt Down (A little) Tilt Up (A Lot) it seems to tilt up a LOT further than it will tilt down which kind of sucks because it is sitting on a table higher than my but no biggie. Lastly and most importantly the USB hub on this doesnt seem very well thought out at least to me. I preferred my predator where it had the USB hub inputs on the left side. This monitor they are located on the back right by the video inputs and its much more of a hassle to quickly plug in/out something.

Upgrading from 16:9 has been a blast, especially for games. The first I played on it was Subnautica, and most recently the God of War port has 21:9 support. My previous panel was 1440p 144hz and TN. The colors on the IPS hasnt blown me away except that I no longer need to futz with nvidia control panel calibration. The corners do have some backlight bleed, but in my use I dont notice it. I use this monitor for productivity, internet browsing, and gaming. A tiling window manager makes utilizing all the space easy. Two problems that docked a star. First, there is a stuck pixel on the far left a couple inches below center. It doesnt bother me enough to exchange, as it is only noticeable with a white or light blue background and I have to look for it. Second, it did not come with a downstream USB connector (this enables the two USB ports on the back of the monitor). Related to the USB ports, I am disappointed with the only two USB ports, as I had gotten used to having four on my previous Dell S2716DG. The stand functions well. The red and back gamer style is tired and ugly, but you cant really see the red in normal use. I prefer the Dell flat base style since you can place things on it. Ill probably get a desk-mounted monitor arm for this reason.

Once calibrated to your particular aesthetic standards, the monitor looks incredible. Games feel so much more immersive with this ultrawide, curved monitor. Images look crisp, clear, and vivid, so much so that during gaming sessions I will spend time just observing the scenery and taking in the environment. There is even a setting to calibrate the darkness of the monitor specifically for shadow quality, which makes horror games more frightening and the overall density and quality of shadows much more realistic. Everything from images to games and movies have more precise and scrupulous detail than my previous ASUS 27 monitor. The stand, however, sucks. I dont care about the absence of swivel ability like others do, but the stand has two legs that protrude too far forward past the monitor. This makes positioning a keyboard and mouse very difficult, such that my keyboard has to be set awkwardly over one of the legs and my mouse hits the other leg occasionally when playing a game. Its more of an annoyance than anything else and since the monitor itself is fantastic, I can put up with it. LG, if youre reading this, please develop a better, more space-saving stand with your next iteration of monitors. Thank you.

I love this monitor, absolutely perfect for me and my needs for consuming content and playing games. Would have rated 5 stars, but Ive had a problem with the display. When I first got it, I noticed immediately there was a dead pixel. Returned it and got a new one in a timely manner so I wasnt very upset, mistakes happen. Recently though, about 7 months after the replacement arrived I noticed another pixel that could no longer display red. I checked the monitor when I first got it so i know it developed over time, but Im a bit frustrated as Ive had 2 much cheaper monitors for 5 years and they both have no dead pixels. Im not sure if Im unlucky or if its a quirk of the panel, either way I wanted to reflect that in this review.

If youre in doubt at all, check out the review of this screen on RTings. I have two monitors set up, and moving things around on this screen vs. the other is absolutely night and day. LG really nailed it with the LCD pixel color transition math. Many good screens will still show a lot of blur when moving e.g. a window with sharp edges between dark grey and darker grey, but this screen stays super sharp on those same edges. If you like retro-style games with things moving fast in 2D fields, especially emulators playing games that were designed for zero-blur CRT televisions, thats a feature to go for. It turns on quickly, times out to sleep when the DisplayPort source goes to sleep, and you can set it so it has minimal light when in standby. The stand does not swivel, but you can put the screen on top of something like a piece of scrap plywood or posterboard (so the rubber feet dont grip) and that will spin. Honestly though, what you really want to do at this price point is get an articulating desk mount arm and VESA mount the screen. Theres a bit of a reflectivity issue. This screen is a concave reflector lens, with a focal length of about your usual sitting distance. Which sounds great, but it does mean if theres anything bright behind you, or visible reflected in a mirror behind you, this screen has just enough reflectivity that it will sometimes focus a dim blurry image of the light source that fills the entire screen. Ive never had that in a monitor before, not even my previous Asus ROG screen that was the same size and curvature. All navigation is done with a single joystick control, including turning the screen off. (Which does make it a bit difficult to turn the screen off, but I almost never want to do that. It goes to sleep automatically when the attached computer shuts down.) Whats good about the joystick control vs. other brands, is its centrally located right behind a visual feature that makes it really easy to find by touch, and it is FULLY RECESSED. Im glad I bought this screen, but the only reason I had to drop the significant cost is my previous monitor did not have that joystick recessed, and it got broken off while moving the screen around, rendering the still-functioning monitor useless because the menu could no longer be accessed. This joystick is in a place that will not do that! I dont find the menus very intuitive, they are over-stylized and changed navigation paradigms just to be different. Imagine someone took a good Wustoff kitchen knife set, then went to Toys R Us and glued a bunch of plastic toy sword handles on top of the original handles, and fit the knife set back into a bunch of belt and backstrap holsters on a 2-foot tall plastic ninja robot. Thats what using the menu is like on LG gaming screens now. OK, it might appear to people under 12, but all youve done is make everything harder to find, slower to get at, and clunky to use. I wish they would stop it, but hey you dont have to get in the menu very often, so its still a 5-star screen.

Pros + This is the first monitor in nearly a decade that did not come with a single dead pixel on my first attempt. + Minimal backlight bleed and minimal IPS glow (again super surprised I lucked out with this panel on my first try.. Must be some good quality control with LG on this product. + 10Bit color looks amazing, the colors pop + 144hz w/ gsync is super smooth, even more so than my acer x34 w/ native gsync module. Also no flickering w/ gsync enabled. + HDR10 - Dont underestimate it, the panel is bright enough that it actually really looks good in certain games like Mass Effect Legendary Edition, and No Mans Sky. While some games look superior in SDR. Try it out for yourself I was pleasantly surprised. Also disable HDR in windows when not using it in gaming as it washes out the colors of desktop. + The OSD menu is the best menu ive ever used on a monitor. I was effortlessly able to navigate through the whole menu on the first attempt without any training or practice. + Price is decent for what you get, my acer x34 cost 1200 at launch and I paid 799 for this. + Zero ghosting, fast response time, no noticeable input lag + Ultrawide (once you go 21:9 you dont go back) Slim bezels. Also 98% Of my games do support ultrawide resolution. If people tell you otherwise they dont own a ultrawide monitor. + Best resolution IMO, not too hard to run as 4k, while still giving quality image. Can run most of my games at around max refresh rate. But i do have a beefy rig 3080 + 5800X. Cons - While the stand is nice and a bit smaller than the acer x34 stand, its still a large stand and takes up a ton of real-estate on your desk. (easily fixable with an affordable desk monitor arm, which I already had) - One year warranty? isnt nearly long enough for a monitor of this price. - No built-in speakers. This isnt a deal breaker but it was nice to keep the desk looking clutter-free, I bought some new speakers though that give superior sound in every single way, so good trade off. 10/10 Rating, best monitor I have ever owned. Great Quality control (or maybe I just got luck). Hopefully I get a long life out of this monitor like I did my acer x34.

Wow this is my first ultra wide monitor and Im still in awe at the amazing picture quality. I have an IPS Samsung Odyssey next to it so you can clearly see the color profile differences between a VA and IPS panel. However, I realize that VA has better white and blackness, which is more conducive to my productivity as I type and read documents a lot. Gaming on this is fast and the color calibration is unrivaled on LG! I As a casual gamer I cant justify spending between $800 and $1000 for a Samsung or Alienware ultra-wide, but this is such a great value (a steal when its on sale).

Im super happy with this monitor! I work in VFX and motion graphics, and I was looking for something I could use for work as well as gaming. Most of the options I was looking at were $1500+. I had to compromise a little on color, HDR, and resolution, but this is a HUGE night and day difference between my two old 27 1080s from 2014. I was using smaller I think 22 4K monitors in class, and it was difficult to see the UI in my software sometimes. Im kinda blind, so the pixel to inch ratio on this monitor is perfect for me. Everything worked right out of the box -- comes with a display port cable, did a dead pixel test and there were none. I dont play anything super intensive, lately just Persona 5 Strikers or Destiny 2, and everything has been running great on my gtx 1070. Im looking forward to upgrading my gpu now that I have a nice monitor! Most games do not seem to support ultrawide, so if black bars on the side bother you, than this monitor isnt for you. I barely notice them when Im playing games. Also, Netflix wont display at full resolution in Chrome; apparently you need to use the Windows store app or Microsoft Edge. None of this is marks against the monitor, just a note. The monitor has a pretty big stand, so if youre not mounting it, make sure you have enough room on your desk. I currently have a 27 monitor, this 34 monitor, my ps4, and my PC all on my desk and its a very tight squeeze, and my mousepad that runs along my desk slightly overlaps the feet. With such a large base, itd be pretty much impossible to use a monitor stand with it, but thankfully it already sits pretty tall and can be adjusted even taller still as it slides up and down. I think this is one of the best bang-for-your-buck ultrawide monitors out at the moment and Im very happy with my purchase!

This is the first “high end” monitor I’ve ever bought. I reviewed monitors for a long time, pulled the trigger on this one. I am replacing 2 22” 1080 VA 60hz panels and this thing is amazing. I highly recommend for anyone who is doing any type of content creation, works on their computer a lot. Only thing I would honestly change, but it’s not a common feature I don’t think, is a dedicated power button and a dedicated input switch toggle. But it’s not a deal breaker at all.

Immerse yourself in the action with this ultra-wide, WQHD Nano IPS curved monitor for gaming. See moving objects on the screen more clearly with a high overclocked* 160 Hz refresh rate and 1ms Motion Blur Reduction. AMD FreeSync Premium support virtually eliminates screen tearing and minimize stutter in high-resolution and fast-paced games for a fast and fluid gaming experience with supported video cards. Dynamic Action Sync reduces input lag and elevates your gameplay, allowing you to respond to your opponents quickly, while Black Stabilizer allows you to see them more clearly in the dark. Use the Crosshair feature for enhanced vision and precision in first-person shooters. Adjust the tilt, height, and pivot for the best ergonomics, ensuring that you have the most comfortable viewing position to play your games. *144Hz (O/C 160Hz) refresh rate for PC games only. Monitor will support console game"s refresh rate when AMD FreeSync is turned off, but only 60 Hz refresh rate only when AMD FreeSync is turned on
