Mitutoyo 050101, Edge Finder, 3/8 Dia. Shank, .200 Dia. Tip

Insane value. Quality edge finders, cheap. I use them in the shop and havent had an issue.

Seems to be a very nice if unspectacular edge finder. Only had it a week or so but Ive used it a number of times and it did what you want it to -accurately found the edge I was working on. For the price I like what I got!

I ALMOST went with a laser edge finder, but this tool was chosen instead (a lot less expensive) and I have to say it is one of the best quality tools for this price I have ever purchased.

Does what it says

The Mitutoyo name is synonymous with high quality. Product is VERY well made and has a beautifully machined finish. The accuracy of it is dead on the money! There are other brands that are much more costly but arent any more accurate so why pay more!

Accurate and repeatable

not very sensitove, looks like the real thing, just not the same in operation, buy one better.

Good price and quality. Be sure not to spin it too fast. I would recommmend 800-1000. I usually use 980rpm.

This product doesnt seem to be an actual Mitutoyo edge finder, rather it is likely a generic copy. It seems to work but is not as accurate as I had hoped. Its fairly difficult to determine when to stop, and I had been under the misconception that there would be an audible indication as well. If there is an audible indication I cannot hear it over the sound of my milling machine motor (which isnt very loud, to be honest). I will admit that it could be operator error and that I may get better at using it with time.
