Moen R8712P 12-Inch Bathroom Grab Bar, Peened

Easy to install though I used different screws and anchors (anchors werent included which I found odd). I like the peened section.

What can one say: They require installing, always a challenge to have the right accessories and tools but they went up, look very good and do the job of providing safety bars. Typical Moen quality.

First, you must locate two studs to install securely and for safety. If you cannot locate then hire a professional. After locating the studs, i applied masking tape on the wall so I could layout the holes. Unit is 18 inches but studs were 12 in apart, so I installed at an angle. You can install vertically if desired onto one stud. I have tile, so I patiently but firmly drilled holes big enough that the screw would fit through because I did not want to crack the tile when tightening.i drilled six holes, stopping after each one to check the next hole location before drilling the next. My rating is 4 stars because the polished brass color is close to a 14k gold color. It does not look bad, but the color is not the same as the polished brass fixtures throughout the bath.

Outstanding grab bar. Easy to install. Looks nice. Great grip. I’ve installed hundreds of these. They are my grab bar of choice.

This safety bar is sturdy and has an apparently durable finish. I previously installed two of these to our garage entry door and ordered another for our rear door. The first two have been in use for two years and are working well. The bar is easy to install, there are a number of slots and holes in each of the mounting rings; just use 3 screws in each end.

Purchased this for our combo tub/shower. Already had 2 Grab bars installed, and decided to add a 3rd to back area of tub. Wished we had purchased the first 2 with the peening, as they are smooth metal. The textured grab bar make quite a difference. Mown quality didn’t disappoint!

Love this grab bar - put it in the bathtub/shower & is very sturdy.

Have yet to have installed but so far so good. Round size is just the proper size for both women and men. Hopefully we will install soon.

Inexpensive attractive functional safety what more can I ask for reasonably priced ☺️

Update 7/28: received replacement 12 in its own box, arrived in perfect condition. Thank you Remodeling for elderly access. Wanted 2 vertical placement at either end of shower and 1 horizontal against long wall. I ordered two Model #: R8712W 12 and one Model #: R8716W 16 Glacier color (White). These sizes were impossible to find in-store, so took a chance to order on Amazon. The color for both sizes were a perfect match to a store-bought 18 Moen Glacier of a different Model #: LR8918W. Both models are exactly the same design/color except the LR89 series has a slightly larger diameter (fatter) grab bar. I like the look of the cheaper R87 series. Both the 12 & 16 came in plastic bags placed in an over-sized Amazon box so 1 of my 12 arrived with the white enamel scratched on both the flange cover and the bar. Damage likely occurred during packaging or bouncing around while shipping. I have requested replacement. The damage to the 16 was only on the flange cover under the wrapping and almost looks like a manufacture error as the flange cover is a bit deformed in shape and wont sit flush-however being a Moen product I have no doubt that Moen would send a replacement flange for free. For shower/bath I only use Moen and they have always (15yrs) honored their lifetime warranties. I returned the 16 as the two 12 I ordered appear perfect for intended use. I am waiting for a 18 and 24 to arrive from a local store to check that the color/design is the same as those purchased from Amazon a decide which size is better. Originally I was looking at Chrome in the Moen Designer Elegance and Moen Align series, but the bars are so big and so shiny that it was a bit of an eyesore. Also tried Delta Tempra, which actually was the least large of the bunch (not by much) am hoping the white bars are a bit more low profile with the intended white tile in shower. Will update with the color match/style consistency with the locally purchased Moen grab bars of the same model.
