Ordered two of these so that my brother-in-law can hold on to these bars instead of putting his weight on the storm door when he enters and leaves his house while using his walker. They are installed vertically so he can hold one while leaving and then hold onto the second one on the outside of the house. He has 2 steps between the house (a ranch-style house - one level) and the carport. One of the stainless steel screws sheared off just below the head, even with 3/8-inch holes drilled. That necessitated a trip to the hardware store to get a couple extras. Installing these requires a long screwdriver bit if they are to be installed using a drill-driver. Just one screw on each end is insufficient for an adults full weight.

These were perfect for my shower and much needed. I highly recommend that older people install these in their shower

Purchased this for our combo tub/shower. Already had 2 Grab bars installed, and decided to add a 3rd to back area of tub. Wished we had purchased the first 2 with the peening, as they are smooth metal. The textured grab bar make quite a difference. Mown quality didn’t disappoint!

High quality grab bar and nice peened finish on grab area. The screws supplied, while long enough to penetrate 1/2 inch drywall and into studs or 2 x blocking in wall, have a phillips head. There is no possible way to drive the screw into the wood studs because a phillips bit will just cam out of the screw head. I tried pre-drilling the hole (not too big of diameter) to help and put some soap on the screw threads. But still, cam out occurred before I could get the screw all the way in. I ditched the supplied screws and used star head drive deck screws with a small washer under the head (because the slot in the flange was maybe a little wide for those type of flat head screws.) Using a cordless drill and a star bit, I had no issues driving the screws home. Be careful not drive it too far in so as to crush the drywall! My recommendation to Moen is to get a little wiser about the type of screws provided with these. Changing the screw type wouldnt cost hardly anything more. The installers would be much appreciative of this

Purchased this for my 84 year old grandmother who was having balance and arthritis issues to help her step into and out of the shower. She absolutely loves it, has made a huge difference in her safety while bathing. My boyfriend (who work construction) installed it, and it took him all of 5 minutes, super easy and secure when attached to a stud. My grandmothers physical and occupational therapists also loved it. Great product, function and it looks very nice in her bathroom. She was very concerned about her bathroom looking like “an old person bathroom” but the product is sleek and professional looking. Definitely recommend!

Since I did not have studs to install these into, I use the Moen custom clips requiring drilling into the tile , through the cement board, and they are solid. These are purchased separately, but very happy with the purchase and very easy to install. You need a drill, the circular hole saw to sign for tile, a level, and a screwdriver.
