I thought these raised bowls would be taller, but they are like a regular bowl with short pedestals. I like the quality of these bowls, its durable and easy to clean, it holds about 1.5 cups of water or more. The large sized raised cat/dog bowls are my favorite from this company. I wrote a review for those bowls. If you look at the picture here advertised, the cat has to crouch down to drink or eat. The purpose of having raised bowls is so the cat or dog can sit or stand comfortably while eating or drinking. If you have average size cats or dogs, I recommend the Classy Cat and Dog dishes sold here on Amazon, the height and dish size is perfect for taller animals. Classy Cat and Dog makes a 2.5 cup water bowl, that is perfect size and height. I bought the Classy Cat/Dog dishes for my cats, and I bought these Large raised Cat/Dog bowls for my doggies.

My cat and I recently moved to a new state, which was understandably stressful for him. He seemed to be settling in okay, but, for whatever reason, he refused to drink the water in our new home. He would only drink water if I cupped it in my hands, and he wasnt getting nearly enough, so I was quite concerned, especially as he normally drinks a lot. I tried everything the vet suggested, but it got to the point where he would only drink water if I mixed it with tuna or canned food. I bought this bowl mainly because I wanted to measure how much liquid he was actually taking in, but it ended up being the magic solution. I dont know if it was just coincidence, but he drank and drank the second I filled up this bowl and put it down. Its been a few months and hes completely back to normal, but this is still far and away his preferred dish. Hes a pretty big guy, and I think he really likes not having to hunch way over to reach his water. He also loves playing in his water bowls and regularly drowning his mousies, so its great to have a sturdy bowl that he cant knock over (and he tries). Its a little pricy, but I highly recommend this bowl!

I have always used some form of stainless steel bowl for water for my cat. I read somewhere that cats prefer to drink from a metal bowl (generally cooler water). However, I got tired of the rust and it was easy for me to kick and spill. So, I decided to try the ceramic (I like my ceramic mugs, so why not?). It is easy to clean, well weighted and cute as can be. Most importantly, my cat took to it immediately.

Well-made, easy to clean raised water bowl. An excellent choice.

We have several Necoichi bowls now. The cats like them all. I cant say that having elevated food and water bowls has cut down the vomiting one of them does, nor has it magically stopped the other from sticking his paw in the water and flicking water around the room. But theyre nice sturdy, attractive bowls I recommend (always good to find ceramics not glazed with lead). I just wish this company would have put drainage holes in the bottom stand because its gross to open the dishwasher and find a half cup of foul-looking water collected in the inverted base. I always wind up hand washing again after that, not just the bowl but whatever dishes the water sloshed on while I was getting out the bowl.

I love this water bowl that I thought my kitties would like as well.. I usually have a filtered watering fountain but this bowl that I use to change the water every day as a back up on my second floor encourages the kitties to drink fresh water each morning when I clean the bowl and add fresh bottled water. They seem to love it more than the ceramic watering fountain that they have used throughout the years. I dont know if its because it sits higher so they dont need to strain their necks or because the water is fresher with a daily change. But, I am thinking my kitties healths are much better for this. Thank you.

My cat loves this water bowl. I replaced his stainless steel water dish, which was on the floor, with this nice raised bowl and right away he went to check it out and have a nice long drink. It seems to be a better height for him to drink, and also keeps the dust on the floor out of his bowl, aside from being rather stylish to look at. Plus it wont start to rust like the steel bowls did after a few years. I think the water must taste better out of this than steel (well, its true for people, anyway). It is also easy to keep clean. My cat does get canned food and thats where most of his liquids come from, but I always provide clean fresh water, especially on hot days. This bowl makes it easier to keep water fresh and clean, and also seems to appeal to my kitty much more than the steel bowl on the floor. Another thing is that the bowl has measurements printed on the inside, which is helpful to monitor your cats water intake, especially if a cat is unwell and you arent sure they are hydrated sufficiently. Overall a very nice water bowl and well worth paying a little extra over plain stainless steel, because it encourages my kitty to drink plenty of water!

We used to have a water dish with a pump that needed filters. It was a pain to clean, and we could no longer find the expensive filters for it. At first, I was unsure about going back to just a dish because my cat never seemed to want to drink from a dish. I am glad that I listened to the reviews. He drinks from this dish frequently. It is much easier to maintain than the filtered bowl, and he has never tipped it over. The fact that it is raised makes it easier for him to drink, since he doesnt have to bend down (he is 13 years old). At first, I was concerned that it wouldnt be big enough, but he has never run out of water in less than a day. I dump and refill it every morning, and that seems to be sufficient. I am very happy with this dish.

I didnt think cat bowls would make me so happy but I love these raised ones. I bought two to try then I went back and bought two more (we have two stories and I have a set of bowls for each floor). I was most concerned about the lip that kept the food in. I thought it would be a nightmare to clean (never getting the food out from under the lip) but that is not at all how these are designed. Its not really a lip, but a rolled thicker part of the rim. So yes, it sort of keeps the food from spilling out but its definitely not a hindrance. The designs are so cute and the quality seems very good. Its a heavier bowl but not too heavy. I bought all water bowls even though I use two of them for food. I was worried the bowl wouldnt be big enough to hold the dry for my kitty (he self feeds all day). I really am glad I bought these bowls. They are absolutely perfect.
