I didn’t realize Google didn’t support eave mounting when I purchased my nest camera. Found this online on Reddit. Solved my problem perfectly everything fit great.

If you need to mount a Google Nest Floodlight cam under eave, you need this product! It works well, like all the other reviews say. However, like that one review that says it does not fit, that can also be the case. The seller is aware of that issue and posted about it on Reddit. I followed his directions on that post and used my soldering iron to fix the issue. Took me less than two minutes and it then fit perfectly. Hopefully, you will receive a unit form the new batch and not have that issue. If you do, and have a soldering iron available, its really an easy fix. My Google Nest floodlight cam is now mounted correctly under the eave and perfectly secure.

This worked great! Great solution for what seems to be a common problem for many google nest users! Was able to install easily for a client! I did review some of the previous lower star reviews prior to purchasing and it looks like there were some issues with fit. It seems that those have been addressed and altered because I had no issues here! I look forward to seeing how it holds put to the test of time but so far so good!

Google should pay this guy a lot of money for elegantly and functionally solving their own problem they introduced to millions of Google Nest homeowners. Most existing floodlights are installed under eaves/soffits, so I have no idea why Google didn’t think of this and provide a solution itself. After I bought the floodlight camera and realized they have no option for mounting under an eave, I almost returned the camera but then I came across this item on a Reddit post. Massive thanks and respect for the guy that designed and 3D-printed this mount.

This is exactly what you need if you own a Google nest floodlight and want to attach it to the eave of your house. I purchased the floodlight and was not aware you couldnt attach it vertically without issues. I searched for alternative attachments and found none. I stumbled across this going down a YouTube rabbit hole and found it, apparently the seller does his sells in batches so if you get a notification that it is back I would jump on it. Aesthetically it looks better and does what its suppose to do, the only downside is you have to play with the wires to make sure they sit right or the base and the mount wont close all the way to attach the security screw.

They let you mount the Google Next Cams horizontal like it was meant to be but I found that on many of my flood light locations in which the gutters got in the way of installation and would not allow this mount to work. Now I leaned that you can indeed mount the Google Nest cams upside down and it actually provided more freedom of maneuver for the cameras and floodlights without using this mount. This upside down mounting did not hinder anything on the camera and weather also was not a problem. So if you need to mount with this adapter it’s the only solution but I don’t think you necessarily need it I have many locations some of them have this mount and some of them do not and both work exactly the same all sensors work exactly the same, no whether interference. Also something to note I ordered 8 of these and half of them broke when inserting the camera into the housing, and a few did not line up the locking screw correctly I believe they may have slightly altered it to fix these issue and if you need this installation solution I would still recommend to get these but know it’s not the only solution as you can just mount it upside down with no adverse effects and just set in the app 180 degrees turn if the camera to make it right.
